    **Official** England in New Zealand 28 Nov-18 Dec 2024 - 3 Tests

Conway averaged 50+ in 3 successive seasons for Wellington. I think there are a couple of different factors in his decline, including more sophisticated analysis departments identifying weaknesses that went unnoticed in domestic cricket, batting out of position (he always played at number 3 for...

8 - funny thing is, the two most difficult chances (a Phillips flyer in gully and a hard catch for Southee running back and looking over his shoulder) were taken.

IIRC, Blundell had bloody good FC stats when he made his debut, low to mid-40's average. Certainly had a couple of seasons averaging around the 50 mark in the mid 2010's. Mitchell I think is a slightly different case of someone who genuinely developed late, but yeah he was never a 50+ averaging...

NZ can still make it with a 2-1 series win if Aus v Ind ends 2-2 and Aus v SL ends 1-1. Not super likely admittedly, but not super unlikely either.

So glad Harmison is sticking the boot in about NZ's catching. The kiwi commentators all seem like they're way to chummy with the administration to make too much of a point of it.

Argh, will people stop suggesting this!

I always hate having to talk **** about NZ players (well unless it's Kugz). Guys like Blundell and Nicholls made some great contributions to the side. But Stead and co need to get real here. Blundell's 34. He's a liability with the gloves. He can't buy a run and hasn't been able to for 2 years...

Pretty similar, but Blundell's rut has been running for much longer. Averages 13 since the last time England toured New Zealand.

Yeah, this needs to be Blundell's last test.

I can. From what I've heard, the relationship between the two is not flash.

Over the course of his career he'll play some sparkling innings and earn incredible amounts of praise, and people who don't watch him every game will be stunned when they see he only averages 43.

I could see this all coming unzipped very quickly now.

It's really quite unsporting of them.

No chance. Even if he plays all 3 tests I wouldn't bank on him picking more than 5 more wickets .

Sumo's actually doing a pretty good job in this interview with Agnew. Shame he can't be left to just focus on presenting and interviews.

Chances of Kane getting to 10K? Assuming he's targeting the 4 test series in Australia in 26/27, then that's 2 more here, 2 v Zim in the winter, 2 v WI, maybe 1 v Ireland (assuming it doesn't get replaced with 3 T20's), 3 v England, 2 v India, the 4 v Aus and maybe 2 more at the end of that...

Probably was a trick of the light, because Kane would've spotted it and had a go if there genuinely had been.
