They claim that even after several hours of rain, it only takes them handful of "minutes" to get play started. All the water is absorbed below the surface so no puddles ever remain on the field. So if rain stops, expect play to start within half an hour even after a heavy downpour. Given this...

Still think we'll get at least 3 days of play.

Pink ball has much more lacquer so it doesn't lose its shine easily. It is probably the most durable ball too and would be an ideal replacement for Dukes ball, which is currently having to be changed every 20 or so overs. Moreover why are we still using 2 white balls in ODI cricket, when we can...

    Kumar Sangakkara vs Steve Waugh

Australia will not lose to England at home. And it won't be close either. Australia have enough talent in the bowling reserves that even an injury or two won't derail their home Ashes.

    Kumar Sangakkara vs Steve Waugh

Bumrah being rested for the 4th test helped big time, as he'd been getting him out in the first innings.

This myth was busted again in the Dravid vs Sangakkara thread.

Road to India in Australia 2024-25

Even if a player had a child during IPL, they'd only miss a few games because usually there's only about 2 games per week for each team.

Glad that Kohli, Jadeja & co have retired from T20i because they aren't really suited to this new age t20 batting. It's basically a hitathon. Expect more of this as next world cup is in India.

    Jacques Kallis vs Ricky Ponting

The 'batsmanship' displayed by the likes of Ponting, Tendulkar and Lara was something else.

Shami looks out for at least the first 2-3 tests. I don't think he is currently bowling either.

It's because his priorities have clearly changed and his game is not the same. He has missed 8 marquee Tests in total for these personal reasons. I doubt there is a single player who has missed even more than 2 Tests in total because of this..

Even this year vs England, it was kind of a rescue act again, but due to different reasons, as there were several key absentees.

Kohli missed an entire series twice. Rohit is only missing one match.

Who are Indian batters good vs Spin? It's Rohit, Pant, and Jadeja. None of them were playing that Test somehow. Two of them being lefties too. Overall Indian batting was still better vs spin but not massively better.

Thats fair. But picking up wickets is a bit of a random thing. It happens every now & then that you may bowl the best spell and not really get the rewards to show for it and instead it may be your teammates getting those wickets. Sometimes it is the other way around. So individual bowling...

No it's not. India is getting bowled out 60 and 150. Pitch is like the one from cape town test earlier this year and Bumrah and his mates have conceded 350. A bag of wickets doesn't automatically mean great performance if your performance relative to opposition and match situation is way off.

*Official* New Zealand tour of India 2024

Ajaz Patel bowled 48 overs himself to take his 10 wickets. India's innings lasted 110 overs. For comparison, NZ's first innings only lasted 26 overs. It was that kind of pitch. Just because his fellow bowlers were absolutely terrible doesn't mean Ajaz Patel was world class. He was good. He got...
