Gifting away our wickets, dropping catches, bowling pies. Is it 1995?

They removed the black V necks from our woolen sweaters again. Put them back and leave them there please.

Otautahi, Aotearoa, 29 November 2224. Despite being dead for well over a century, veteran seamer Tim Southee has once again been selected for the BLACKCAPS upcoming tour of Azerbaijan, set to begin with a festival match in the picturesque, world-heritage listed mountain town of Shaki...

Wild to think there was a time when it was common for batsmen to not wear helmets.

If the NZ brains trust wasn't so conservative I'd say Blundell was skating on very thin ice right now.

Quality all-rounders. TVNZ cared about being good back then, I guess because they hadn't forgotten how to be a public broadcaster.

Thank you for your erudite and considered response, Heef. Now I hate him even more than before.

Me either. My fave of all time is Bryan Waddle, whose closest shave with playing top level cricket was being a sub fielder in India because most of NZ's players couldn't control their bowels. Now, if I'm listening to two complete morons being paid (presumably) to waffle in a characterless NZ...

This is pretty much the standard response defending him; says it all really. Craig McMillan sucks too, but at least he played cricket once.

I was there a few years ago when the crowd was restricted to 900-odd people due to covid. The weather was like today, except there was no wind. There was a bald dude sitting in front of us the entire day without a shirt or a hat; he shone like a glazed ham.

Brilliant story mate, thanks for sharing. Fantastic that you got to see the legendary Rod Latham 5-for :) I was at game 3 in Wellington, notable for being Shane Warne's ODI debut but also the only one in the series where we got Mark Waugh out cheaply. It was his first series opening and he...

*Official* Australia tour of New Zealand Feb-Mar 2024

It's the confidence and belief and the swagger that I love(d) about McCullum, when he was playing. You may be right though, perhaps that doesn't translate into his coaching that well but by god I would love some of those qualities back in this NZ side.
