    English Domestic Season 2023

Kent may be regretting not making Ollie Robinson their keeper, went to Durham. Keeping for Kent in the championship today is that well known keeper, Harry Finch.

    English Domestic Season 2023

Could be playing for them in Division 2 if Notts aren't careful. They are certainly not out of the relegation zone just yet.

*Official* Fourth Test (Old Trafford, Manchester) 19-23 July

England lost the Ashes, not through Bazzball, but by failing in the fundamentals. Taking wickets off no balls, dropping more catches than their opponents (Bairstow's runs negated by his sloppy glovework), and some poor batting at Lords. Do the fundamentals better, you win more than you lose.

*Official* Fourth Test (Old Trafford, Manchester) 19-23 July

Another two or three hours of this will be lovely. Amazingly they have had a full day at Cheltenham today, a Chris Dent century against Glamorgan. Watching from the comfort of my armchair in West Australia.

    Great captaincy by Knight there.

    Internationals in domestic cricket

His name was mentioned in an earlier post, but yes, probably should have mentioned him. I may not have watched much cricket the year he was there, 1979/80, I was 12.

    Internationals in domestic cricket

Growing up in the 1980's, we had quite a few "Internationals" or close to International playing for Tasmania (where I was raised) Brian Davison, Franklyn Stephenson Michael Holding Patrick Patterson Roland Butcher (Not so good, hardly made a run the year he was there) Neil Williams ( Ditto...

    *Official* Women's Ashes 2023

Healy and Schutt were the two "experienced" players I was thinking about.

    *Official* Women's Ashes 2023

I sense just a very slight decline in the Australian team, not much, but one or two "experienced" players may be under the pump quite soon.

Derbyshire County Batting Record Watch, Currently Leus du Plooy on 209no at 462-5. George Davidson's record score of 274 back in 1896 v Lancashire at Manchester under threat I reckon.

*Official* Second Test (Lord's, London) 28 June–2 July

Just to be clear, under any metrics, if England had have played better than Australia throughout the Test, they would have beaten us. They didn't. In the end it had nothing to do with Bazzball. Bowling a NB that got a wicket and a pathetic keeper who couldn't seem to catch a cold was the...

*Official* First Test (Edgbaston, Birmingham) 16–20 June

Rehan Ahmed called into the Test Squad, quite fitting really with 6 wkts at 67.66 in the Championship for Leicestershire this season. Averaging 38 with the bat though.

Excellent, more easy runs to be had, Jacks, 22-1-135-1 sounds good to me.

    English Domestic Season 2023

I was just looking at Cricinfo, and the Blast match today, (The only one scheduled), between Essex & Somerset is being played at Leicester. Is this correct, if so why ?, is this an Essex home match, if so, why can't they find a ground in the South of England to play it.

    English Domestic Season 2023

Sibley with the slowest ever championship hundred. Fantastic to see a player able to bat for 8.5 hours to get a century. If it ends in a record run chase, then it was a perfect performance for the situation.
