Do tailend runs affect your cricketer rating?

It's one of those issues that probably doesn't matter when one's hypothetically assessing the merits of two ATGs. If I selected (say) CEL Ambrose ahead of GD McGrath it wouldn't be because Sir Curtly was a 9/10 and Narromine's leading chunterer was an 11. However when actually selecting an XI...

    Players with no peak

I was gonna suggest Lord Gah. Average settled at 44.53 after 21 tests and ended up at 44.25 after 117. Highest 45.71 and lowest 40.94.

England team selection T20 World Cup 2024

Jacks and Livingstone absolutely stealing squad places at the mo. There's always the argument their slow stuff elevates them over Duckett, but Malan's leggies (and Root's offies, if it comes to that) compare pretty favourably with Jacks's efforts with the ball thus far.

    Official Rugby Thread

Wales are very much in a transitional phase (read: are a shower of sheep ****) just now so think yer Wobblies should get a couple in the "W" column there at least.

    Out of context sports clothing

There's a Twitter account called Full-kit Wankers that does some good work in this field. Like this, um, gentleman who got married in full Gooner attire: Or, the wankers' wanker himself:

Yeah, in to continue my unbroken streak of never once winning.

England players and selection discussion thread

Well only is as much as Worrall has an English father and an Irish mother, not vice versa as in Eoin's case.

    Boxing thread

Well he might be 57, but he's still Mike Tyson. He connects and it's red rover for Mr Paul. Looks in pretty decent nick from his training clip:

See what you mean, but we've picked umpteen Anglo-Aussies over the years. None of whom have been that fantastic, now I think about it, but that's for another thread. My take is it'd be a wee bit arbitrary to exclude him on the grounds he was good enough to actually get a gig for our criminal...

Leading players who had a disability etc (e.g. Len Hutton's arm)

Bloody hell. I realised he was short, but not that short. I thought he was Dave Boon/Mushfiqur Rahim kinda height.

England players and selection discussion thread

Well there's this lad Anderson from Lancs; expect him to get a gig come the first test.

England players and selection discussion thread

He's been with Essex for quite a while, so maybe? I'm guessing he originally came over to play as a local thanks to his Dutch passport, but he may well have lived here long enough to qualify for a UK one now too. Not sure Franky Worrall is qualified either though, although he has said he wants...

    2024 Olympic Games

Boxing's usually pretty good value, occasional blatant judging stitch up notwithstanding. From a GB perspective it'll be interesting to see how the wonderfully named Delicious Orie goes in the (men's) Super Heavyweight division. We've medalled at the weight as often as not since the turn of the...

Didn't Paddles have a congenital heart defect that wasn't detected until he retired?

Who is cricket's greatest alpha character?

Curtly. Extremely low temperature chap. Peter Willey deserves a nod too; even Botham (a try-hard alpha manque if ever there was) knew better than to mess around with Pete. Hard AF by repute.

    2024 NRL Tipping Comp

Don't pretend to be an expert, but thought the Dogs minus 4.5 against dear old St George was generous AF.

    **Official** English Football Season 2023/24

That lardo Sutton reserve keeper who necked a pie on the bench in their FA Cup tie against us only got a token slap on the wrist, tbf. And that was blatant AF. One of Paddy Power's uncomedy bets, wasn't it?
