Draft Game - Fantasy Cricket 2024

I can't see him in the list but if I can I'd like to take Mikyle Louis, please. Seems to have played all his FC cricket (each of his 7 matches!) as an opener. @Silver Silva

Should have a couple of quid on us if you think we'll go close. We're the value in the betting, IMHO. Think we'll be given a very sound thrashing but one won't get rich backing the ABs. NZ currently 2/9 and we're 11/2 (draw 40/1). Or, if you dress on that side, NZ 1.22, England 5.5 and the draw...

Match #49- Super Eights, England vs USA (D), Kensington Oval, Barbados-- June 23rd- Group 2

We are, but at the same time we're 1/3 against test nations. Feels odd to have made the semis by only beating the Windies.

MOTM a genuinely tough call. The bloke who bowled 4 overs for 13, the one who took 4 in an over or the other who hit 83 off 38?

Just the 32 runs from that one. Majestic from the skipper.

Touch of the Harmison's there from Ali-Khan. Jos ticking as Bumble would have it.

Of course the big question is if only 5 balls of an over are bowled does it count as a maiden? Jordan potentially denied a quadruple wicket-maiden on a technicality.

Probably very fitting that Anderson has filled out a fair bit since he became American.

Match #42- Super Eights, West Indies vs England (N), Darren Sammy Cricket Stadium, Saint Lucia-- June 19th- Group 2

Wouldn't have happened under SR Waugh. Some of us still remember the 99 WC group game where you chaps tried to nurse the Windies through to the Super 6s by chasing 110 very, very slowly so you would carry through the two points you'd won against them rather than the two you lost v NZ. Blatant...

It's a self-imposed wound though, tbf. RA just needs to get real and select the best Australian-qualified players regardless of where they play their club rugby. Saffers do and it hasn't done the Boks any harm, has it? Fair to guess union's a far bigger deal in the Republic than Oz too.

    The Golf Thread

Not quite up there with Van de Velde at the 99 Open or (surely the field leader) Norman at the US Masters in 96, but still a bottle job for the ages. Still only 35 though (Faldo was 38 when he won his last major) but it's ten years now since Rory claimed one, so yeah, dunno.
