G Bailey - has to be one of the most underrated going around. Has a great calming presense at the wicket and a steady head on his shoulders. Would have no qualms about him batting 6 in the Test side.

On paper not great. But actually bowled really well, thought he did well first up. Impressed with Cutting also, he showed a bit I thought.

Quite excited about Richardson, reckon he's a gun tbh.

With a few of the guys on this. Guard of honour a lovely gesture but think it should be reserved for the real ATG's

    In 5 years time

Do love how much people think things will change in 5 years. Invariably it never changes as much as you think.

Pretty neck and neck with India from last year I'd say.

Yeah Bird I've got no issue with - ideally I'd have liked him a year longer but he has demanded selection. So my post wasn't so much towards him as it is guys like Khawaja, Hazlewood, Hastings etc.

Yeah you've kinda missed the point. Even though you pick normal humans, they still should be working really hard and banging the door down over a few seasons for a game.

Is it just me or are we almost giving away baggy greens these days? No disrespect to Bird, his numbers are terrific, but it used to seem a lot harder to get into the Test side than it is now. And stuff this resting thing btw, that's what ODI's are for. Test cricket means you pick your best 11...

All well and good but the old guard know success, the new guard don't. Until that changes the the current guard of young guys have no place to whinge.

Really hoping that O'Keefe gets sacked/steps down as skipper and gives Haddin the reigns. That would help NSW immensly.

Starc vs Boult - who will have the better career?

Unsurprisingly TC and benchy spot on. Generally speaking these injuries happen behind closed doors when the guys in that age group are coming up through grade and state cricket. Most of our fast bowlers in the past 15 or so years have come in to the side around 24-25 or older when their bodies...

    Sachin Tendulkar

He's played 194 Tests. He's a personal milestone driven bloke in a personal milestone driven cricketing culture. He'll play at least another 6 tests.

Reckon Roelof van der Merve is a bit of a shocker myself.

    Hussey's legacy

Saw a classic example in Perth of him BBQ'ing Wade in the first innings in Perth, and another few examples yesterday. Often leaves his partner high and dry early in his innings, it's pretty lucky he hasn't been involved in more run outs.

    Hussey's legacy

Just a feeling I have more than anything. I reckon Hussey is out for Hussey more than a lot of people think. Combination of his referrals (some of the worst I've ever seen, and often doesn't consult his partner), his running between the wickets (especially early in his innings his focus is to...

    Hussey's legacy

As harsh as it sounds, agree with the boys above - home track bully. I have no doubt that he's a very good player, but he makes a lot of soft runs. He's played 75 Tests and bats at 6 in a side that struggles to get runs out of its top 4. Comes across as a team man but my impression is that he...
