Fringe England players to play domestic cricket in NZ?

Im not sure what Dylan Cleaver was thinking when he wrote that about Clarke & Key..but anyway. Bopara plays at Essex with Andre Adams..who plays for Auckland so could be a connection there.

Fringe England players to play domestic cricket in NZ?

http://www.nzherald.co.nz/section/story.cfm?c_id=4&objectid=10401637 Looks like Otago aren't the only side looking at English players. Auckland have been looking at several candidates such as Bopara, Joyce & Shah. Meanwhile, South Africans Grant Elliot, Kruger van Wyk and former Glamorgan...

    Wicketkeeper for 1986-2006 World XI

I agree about Parore about the fact that he didn't keep to a class spin bowler but he was a very good player of spin, more so than against the quicks so I feel that he probably would have kept well to a good spin bowler. Of course, we will never know if this would be the case or not.

    Wicketkeeper for 1986-2006 World XI

If you were looking at wicket-keeping alone IMO Adam Parore and Russell are ahead of the rest. Parore was simply outstanding, but he was a major let down with the bat..he could have been so much better.

    Best captain in world cricket

Maybe not so much for test cricket right now, but I still feel Stephen Fleming is the best ODI captain.

    New Zealand Domestic Season 2006/07

Yep it'll be Otago. Considering he is close to ODI selection in England, it would be a good move for him to come down to NZ and continue playing cricket in case an injury comes up during the VB Series or so that the selectors can see that he's scoring runs.

    New Zealand 30 man squad

In NZ's case I think they'd feel pretty confident.

    Socceroos and Australian Football

*Wait's for the sound of Australia falling back down to earth*

    New Zealand 30 man squad

Well Bond, Oram & Mills are all over their injuries apparently. They're giving Styris a week to show improvement.

    New Zealand 30 man squad

Fulton & Marshall in particular will be under the gun in this tournament. They will each need at least 1 substantial score of 50+. If they can't do that then it's most likely Ross Taylor will get a chance in the next series against Sri Lanka. I think Astle will need to prove his form too...

    ***Official** Malaysia Tri-Series

India seem to have been on the wrong end of the West Indies a few times now!

    **2007 World Cup**

Well im going to assume that we have no serious injuries from now until the World Cup. The bulk of that squad will go to the World Cup but Adams, Franklin, Taylor, Fulton, Marshall and maybe even Astle will need to perform well as I don't think they are certain selections. Im not convinced...

Group C - New Zealand, England, Kenya, Canada

On England's current form, you'd think NZ would comfortably take this group.

    ***Official** Malaysia Tri-Series

Yeah but they are a completely different team away from home.

    ***Official*** Zimbabwe in South Africa

This series has about as much significance as....why probably Asia vs Africa.

    ***Official** Malaysia Tri-Series

The West Indies will need serious improvement if they want to compete in this series..this is pretty much the same side that lost 5-0 to NZ earlier this year.

    fastest bowler ever?

That cricinfo list is totally outdated. Bond's highest was 153 km's back in 2003 in the West Indies. But he's never consistently been able to play enough cricket to improve his chances of going higher than that. In South Africa this year he managed to reach 148 kms. I have my doubts...

    New Australian One-Day International Kit

the design looks like a step backwards, but it could grow on me.

    fastest bowler ever?

Shane Bond could have been up there with Shoaib & Lee but he's just had far too many injury set backs to ever compete with them.

    Socceroos and Australian Football

I don't blame Brockie for leaving. The Knights were awful last season and the chance for Brockie to earn twice if not triple the amount as well as playing with a good side like Sydney..it would be too good to refuse. If the Knights can show some respectable scores over the next few seasons...
