    Vernon Philander vs Shoaib Akhtar

Sure, that makes sense in theory and I'm all for that. And certainly I never heard a whiff of fixing about Shoiab Akhtar, whatever his other vices. However, I think the timeline is all off. Saqlain and Mahmood were well washed by the time Asif entered onto the scene. I also don't doubt there...

    Vernon Philander vs Shoaib Akhtar

The bigger problem with Shoaib Akhtar is that he wasn't often even fit enough to be a factor in all games of a series let alone career, however much impact we think he had on a given match. Also character. He was a player with highly questionable merits as a team player. The rot was always...

    CW's Ranking of All-Rounders (Tests)

I like Ashwin too in an OP Hadleeesque bowling allrounder type way.

    Kevin Pietersen vs Shivnarine Chanderpaul.

I'll go KP, because I think this is very close. They are very, very different batsmen, and both a bit underrated in CW. KP more the type of match-changer, but I do think Chanderpaul had a consistency that is somewhat underrated.

    Peak Sanga vs Peak Punter

No, I do actually think that already that Murali is in the same tier arguably better for peak period than Marshall (but this gets into what is valued and the advantages / disadvantages inherent to seamer vs spinner which I don't want to get into). It just isn't pushing the argument for Sanga...

The playing out from the back thread

Must be nice for those kids to have a goal mouth in good enough condition to allow for that one pass across his own box, lol.

    Peak Sanga vs Peak Punter

General unbiased consensus of that greater period is that it was more on the flat side. I think that Murali is farther above the greatest spinner peaks compared to Marshall I think being eclipsed for a seamer peak by Imran. Comparing Marshall to Murali directly is probably a bit of a fools errand.

    Ravichandran Ashwin vs Kapil Dev

Comparative advantage of spinner vs pacer for Indian team. India couldn't afford to let Kapil go (especially bowling peak Kapil), under any circumstances. Ashwin I think is still better, but you could still have a great Indian spin attack without him with both Jadeja and Kumble.

    Peak Sanga vs Peak Punter

Which was a greater Test bat, at their respective peaks? I'm going Sanga.

Frequent ball change made by England Team

Lol, love the Australia v England banter here that's the subcurrent of any issue involving these teams. I doubt even any Sri Lankan cares half as much about this. Never change lads.

Yeah, that ****'s some weak sauce excuse.

    ***Official 2024 Olympics Thread***

I need to join the Pakistan figure skating team to qualify for Winter Olympics and just sprint and crash into boards. Like, I know how to skate fast, and turn at shallow angles, that should be enough right? Could even scam them into giving me a PHD, who knows.

    Crawley vs Duckett vs Pope

    Where is Harry Brook though?

    Crawley vs Duckett vs Pope

Lol, you leave out the one young English bat that could be an ATG, and put in Crawley as well (tbf has finally made use of his plethero of ill-begotten chances). You're just trying to trigger me.

    Olympics Athletics

Exactly mate, don't let these Euros infect you with their cancer of "ohmygod we have to compete, why can't we just offer a draw after threefold repitition?" after the 1st move type ****. And yes, I do get that sometimes it's not practical to keep competing in something like high jumping for...

    Olympics Athletics

I'm fact the event should be required in these situations to saw the gold medal in half. Also place a pretty pink bow on each half, with the message "Isn't sharing fun?" Also, whoever places after the co winners should get a bronze, not a silver, because they got 3rd, not 2nd. But unfortunately...

    Olympics Athletics

Plated with gold, which about doubles the value. But yeah, shocking nonetheless. The bronze medals are ****ing worthless though, $3 a pop as of 2010, lol.

    Jacques Kallis vs Jack Hobbs

Kallis is better as a pure batsman. Let alone as a cricketer.
