I think someone has mentioned this before but I cannot understand NZ Cricket's fascination with Mark Orchard. He looks a decent first class player at best.

Oh for crying out loud. I reckon England are just playing badly against O'Brien so he'll make the first test. Good tactics.

That catch by Anderson was phenomenal. I can now see why Canterbury picked him at the age of 16. He definately looks like a potential star. Otherwise, Southee and Boult have shown they're good bowling prospects. And I like the look of Nick Beard even though he struggled in the semi...

7 overs have been lost. India are now chasing 191..so it's still fairly even.

You can tell after a few overs that he's going to be more suited to tests??

Nick Beard looks very good as a spinner. Considering he's only the only slow bowler in the line-up, his performance will be key.

Oh come on! Boult's only 17 or 18 years of age. Franklin's 26/27. Don't start comparing. He hasn't even played first class cricket yet. Just cause he's left arm and dropped it short a few times.

Apparently there are thunder-storms though, the U19's might get their first taste of Duckworth/Lewis as yet.

Im not sure what happened to Jeet Raval, but he has been NZ's opener with Worker for the last year or so. He pulled out just before the tournament, I don't know whether it was because of injury or not. So I guess NZ's prep was thrown in to a bit of dissaray with Raval not being able to play.

Well India haven't had to chase over 200 in this tournament so far, so well done to NZ for doing well in such an important match. Plus India will be chasing under lights. Even if NZ don't progress, I think they can hold their heads up high after this tournament..they've proven there's some...

Yes, NZ has alot of bowlers in their line-up. I'm a bit confused as to why Bracewell bats so low when they've already got the wicket-keeper Bunce playing up at #3. You'd think they'd play another batsmen higher up the order. Southee, Boult, Morgan, Verma, Anderson, Beard. Very good options there.

NZ reach 205 off their 50 overs. Not a bad score, at least they've got some runs on the board. The pitch looks very slow and low. Hopefully Southee and Boult start well. and jeez does Corey Anderson look like a very young Chris Cairns. Only 17 but he hit some towering sixes in his 70.

Meanwhile, Ryder has apologised to his team, fans & family in presser. The days of breaking a toilet window on Lambton Quay and not being noticed are over.

They solved it last year by hiring a couple of tanks (I didn't know NZ had any?)

Yes, but we do get Boobs on Bikes..that's gotta be a draw card.

Well I know it was only a warm-up but NZ went within 10 runs or something of beating India in a high-scoring match. I guess that may give them a little bit of confidence that they might be able to match them.

I bet the New Zealand cricket marketing department is hoping Jordan Sheed stays in the Otago Reserves awhile yet before being selected for NZ. OR, he tries finding a new nickname. Ricky Ponting can get away with "Punter", but im not sure the feminist groups would appreciate kids yelling out...

The New Zealand selection side is doing much better this time, at least they lost their first wicket with 26 on the board.
