I get the feeling that James Marshall would almost certainly be the Captain of that side. You've picked quite a young side, I think they'd throw in the likes of Marshall maybe even Craig Cumming. I think Bradley Scott would be in the mix there too.

I'd like to see Greg Hay go on an 'A' tour or something first. He's only 23, we shouldn't rush him in when it's not overally dire right now.

It's great to see a guy who promised so much at age group level, actually start to produce the goods at the highest level. He's still only 25/26 as well so plenty of good times ahead if he keeps it up.

Fastest one day century in NZ domestic history for McCullum. 100 off just 52 balls. Man has he turned the corner in the last 6 months.

Superb innings from Guptill i thought. After taking 15 balls to get off the mark, he didn't panic and scored a very good century. He was prolific at age-group level but struggled in his first few seasons for Auckland but he's looking like he's starting to find his feet now.

Why would there be a lack of pressure for Strauss in New Zealand? I would imagine he's feeling the pressure immensely just to get his place back in the side. total rubbish point there.

I'd give him a chance to bulk up. If he's bowling a decent clip at his current size, then if he gets a big bigger he'll be clocking in over 140 regularly. It's really funny how critical people here have been on these guys when they're only 16/17/18.

I'd imagine the pitch will have a bit of juice in it following rain. Looking forward to seeing whether England do better in their 2nd innings.

Myburgh is keen on playing for NZ but he's got another 2 years to go. He's had a mixed season. Looks very good, but also inconsistent at this stage. Might come good next year. Kruger van Wyk captains Canterbury and he looks like a solid player but I doubt he'll ever go further in terms of...

Yeah I reckon Elliott has probably completed his 3 years residency now and is available.

How Bell Fulton Fleming Sinclair Oram McCullum Vettori Mills O'Brien Martin I'm not sure whether Fulton will be at #3 but I think those will be the 11 starters anyway. Grant Elliott might even sneak in ahead of O'Brien and bat below McCullum. But I think O'Briens recent performance will get...

I reckon Elliott could grab a spot on the tour to England if he makes a good contribution with the bat today.

Yeah I don't think Robinson will feature for New Zealand. Scores heavily at club level, but seems to be in and out of the Northern side on a regular basis.

Well it's fair to say Anderson's and Engelbrechts catches were two of the best i've seen at any level. You can't take anything away from Anderson's, it was an absolute blinder but I agree, Engelbrechts was quite simply the best catch I have ever seen.
