    World Cup: Best XI

Collingwood has been batting well but surely you would have Styris in there as he has been in form with both bat and ball.

Plunkett - "Freddie Flintoff is the best bowler I have ever seen"

http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/tms/2007/04/looking_to_win_my_place_back.shtml lol, well give him credit...he is only 21.

The decline of Australia after the 2007 world cup

Fleming won't retire after the World Cup...unless we win it maybe. He still has a few goals to achieve like increasing the amount of centuries he has scored and maybe winning some more test series as captain. Bond has come so far, I doubt he'll throw in the towel just yet either. I read an...

    New Zealand Black Caps Thread

It will be interesting to see if NZ rest Bond against Ireland or whether they rest him later on once the 8 points are in the bag. It seems most commentators reckon 8 points will get you into the semi's. I think Fulton will be given 1 more chance as an opener and he'll need at least 50 against...

Bowler of the World Cup 2007

Malinga looks shaky at the start of the innings, I think he definately prefers bowling with the older ball. It might even be worth Sri Lanka holding him back as a specialist death bowler because there are more than just shades of Waqar Younis in him when he starts ripping out those yorkers at...

    Black Caps accused of racism

Well it has already been investigated and they have found no substance to the claims. Clearly just some idiot, probably in the media, looking to spark a beat-up.

Ian Chappell predicts an Anzac Battle

New Zealand know they can beat both though. They defeated South Africa in the Champions Trophy by a considerable margin in the end and have played Sri Lanka so often in recent times that they should be comfortable with playing Murali. NZ's ability to beat the top sides is seriously undersold...

    Is Ross Taylor The Future?

The way he has come into the game and taken control so easily reminds me of how Michael Clarke came onto the scene. Some players take years to get used to international cricket but Taylor seems like he's been around for years and he's only 23. Although, Taylor was not rated as NZ's #1...

    World Cup: Best XI

Yeah I would agree with that side.

    New Zealand Black Caps Thread

There is no need to risk anyone at this stage as we're winning without them and we're not in a do or die situation just yet. Though i'd like to see Gillespie get some game time as soon as possible otherwise it would be a tough ask for him to suddenly play his first game in a semi final match.

Ian Chappell predicts an Anzac Battle

I hope for the sake of the game in this country that we do pull it off. It would be interesting though if both the Black Caps and All Blacks won their respective world cups...who would be voted team of the year at the Halberg awards? lol

The most balanced bowling attack at the WC.

If New Zealand had Kyle Mills at the World Cup, I think our attack would definately be the next best behind Australia. I think the overall balance of our side would be right up there too as Mills has the ability to score a good amount of runs down at #9 or #10. Mills has proven himself over...

    Underwhelming

The ticket prices have meant that really only the hardcore West Indian fans are going to show up and also the cashed up overseas touring parties. The general punters just can't afford it.

    Super Eight

Hopefully Taylor will be fit for the next match. Mason bowled well but I wouldn't mind seeing Gillespie get a crack in the next couple of games.

    New Zealand Black Caps Thread

I reckon it'll be Fulton who will open. The word is that Gillespie came through a final medical check and he will stay on with the team.

Group C - New Zealand, England, Kenya, Canada

I think they should have picked Michael Papps instead of Marshall...opener for opener. plus the small fact that Papps is in awesome form right now. Oh I just read up and saw that he wasn't in the squad of 30! bugger.

I worry that our bowling is only going to be good enough to get us to the Semi's. If we had Kyle Mills there, our bowling really does strengthen up.

Group C - New Zealand, England, Kenya, Canada

At this stage I think they'll only be swapping fast bowler for fast bowler unless they realise they made a bad mistake and maybe Gillespie will be swapped for someone like Harris or Hamish Marshall instead of Adams.

Group C - New Zealand, England, Kenya, Canada

I doubt they'd pick Scott or Aldridge for the business end of a World Cup. Chris Martin at least has played international cricket for awhile now to know what will be expected of him. I suppose if Gillespie went home his replacement would be Andre Adams. Fast bowling is something NZ Cricket...

well he wouldn't be playing the final anyway cause Auckland didn't make it!
