I assume NZ will have a squad of 15 for their tour to England. For the tests, i'd say these players would be locked in so far: Vettori, Mills, Martin, McCullum, Oram, Patel, How, Bell, Taylor That leaves six places up for grabs. The competing players will be (most likely): Fulton, Elliott...

Well it means NZ get the extra seam-bowling option as well as being able to keep Patel in the team. Sinclair ain't scoring runs anyway so if Elliott is able to do any better with the bat then it's a bonus. So we'd have Mills, Martin, Oram, Elliott, Vettori and Patel to bowl the overs.

IMO, Chris Cairns and Nathan Astle could still be playing as Twenty20 specialists for NZ. It will be interesting to see in a few years whether older players stay on and become twenty20 specialists.

From NZ, I'd say Taylor and Mills would be most likely to be picked up. And then maybe Jamie How and Jeetan Patel. And Misbah has already gone to Kolkata hasn't he?

I'd almost consider bringing in Elliott for Sinclair in the Wellington test. It's Elliott's home ground so he should know the conditions well and he's also coming off a good century. He says he's a batsman who bowls, so let's see what he can do at #5. How Bell Fleming Taylor Elliott Oram...

Who is the quickest left armer?

I recall for a season or two Geoff Allott hitting the mid 140's.

Incredible footwork. He'll be in our under 19's by the age of 12.

I don't really mind if he's scoring them on dead pitches. If he's doing it consistently then that's good enough for me.

Despite being 33, I think because Martin hardly breaks down with injury, we may just get 2 or 3 years of good service from him now. He's training very hard and is always running in with purpose. I've been very impressed with him over the last 6 months. And it was also great to see Mills...

Yeah, Adams had taken something like 27 wickets at an average of 5 in the first 5 rounds of the State Championship for Auckland. They're finding life a bit difficult now. Greg Hay continues to score runs. I thought his average might have been a bit of a fluke after his first two seasons, but...

Great result. That win certainly proves NZ has a bit more depth than some have suggested. Before and through-out the first few days of the test, Aggers was calling this a terrible NZ team..Atherton was saying NZ should be thrashed 3-0. Disrespectful comments from the English media aren't...

I don't know why you'd think the NZ team would be promoting pitches like this one. To be honest, they may be keen on the greener pitches where it becomes a bit more of a low scoring lottery.

Why not declare now, put it back on Vettori, would he score another 80 odd runs and let England chase 280 odd on the final day? Come on, let's see something happen here. I'd rather see both sides put up a challenge and risk seeing an NZ loss than watching another day of this.

The reason why the pitch is like this is because a couple of years ago Hamilton was blocked from international cricket because the pitch was deemed too dangerous. This is it's first test match in a number of years and I think the groundsman decided to go on the cautious side this time around...

Where did I ever say that I was complaining about NZ's bowling? NZ's bowling very well but in between times, it's pretty dead pan stuff from England. They decided this was a draw on a day one I reckon.

Snore. Bryan Waddle nearly jumped out of his seat when England took their first single today.

Great to see Andrew De Boorder in the Auckland side. He has alot of potential. Scored quite a few runs for the NZ U19's previously.

Because the first 5 or 6 four day rounds are played before Christmas. Then the one-dayers and twenty20's are played during the holiday period to hopefully pull better crowds.

They'd take Hopkins as primary keeper and then Papps would be back-up if needed.
