  • Are the ones that you've yet to hear from likely to give less demanding offers than Exeter - ie are you looking for fall-back offers in case you don't get your grades, or are there places you might rather go to than Exeter?
Mate, I didn't want to comment on the post itself, but can I suggest you avloid the word "rape" in posts like that - it really jars...

Anyway on a far more important matter, any news yet from your other Unis?

    Cheers

    T
    Nah mate, will be fun

You let yourself get too wound up. Disagreeing is fun.
Bad luck lad, try not to be too disheartened by it. Like I was saying yesterday, it's just one of those things that you can't really prepare for, it's just bad luck. At least you can take the positives from the day though, insofar that you have the experience of what test conditions are like and it's more time on the road etc... In any case, people always say that the best drivers always pass second time, and I think that's backed up in terms of crash statistics etc... If you're anything like me you'll probably get about 8-9 minors next time around and then pass the bloody thing. I'm sure you'll nail it next time.
Haha, well, best of luck. I guess it is easier said than done, but try and take your mind off the consequences of passing/failing and just follow the instructions. 11.30 is quite a decent time for a test actually, because you'll miss all the rush hour ****s and the lunch time rush with any luck. I'm sure you'll let us all know how you get on, so just give it your best shot.
Yeah, probably for the best. In a sense, not having driven your own car yet probably will act as a benefit for you, I took my test in my mums car having had most of my lessons to that point in my instructors car, so the difference between cars can be an unwelcome extra challenge to overcome. Haha, where I lived there was literally no public transport at all, nearest bus stop was actually near Pothas' (the poster :p) house which was a 15 min drive away in itself. But yeah, will defo help on the job front, no question of that, in the long term as well as the short term. But yeah, fingers crossed for the MOT for sure, a bad one of those is the last thing you need, whether you pass or not lol (which I am sure you will).
Mmmm. Easier said than done, but just try and treat it as another lesson I guess. I mean, if you pass that is effectively what it is, you'll not have passed but you'll have another hour of experience etc... I was quite lucky in that my parents paid for my tests and lessons for the most part, as I lived out in the middle of nowhere I guess it was in their interests to get me through the test as soon as possible lol, so that they would not have to drive 20 mins top drop me off somewhere and then 20 mins later on to pick me up again. Clio is a fun car to drive I imagine, quite popular amongst young drivers like us so I'm sure you will have a good time with that. I had a Peugeot 306 with a 1.8 engine, was a beast. Sadly though I couldn't realy afford to keep it so it was sold to my uncle during my first year of uni. Fingers crossed for the MOT, I have had mixed experiences with them, my first one was quite pricey, the next one was really cheap, and then the one after that cost loads :s
Bloody hell, I actually have to post two messages to fit in all I was going to say, haha.

The rest of my message was:

" I'll keep my fingers crossed for you in any case. Do you have your own car? I think we may have discussed this before but I can't remember."
Haha yes, I remember that feeling rather well. Not entirely sure why it was the most stressful for me though, probably a combination of the fact that not passing would have meant a load of extra time/money spent on lessons and having to rely on parents for lifts everywhere etc... Really was bricking it though, in fact come to think of it, it was actually worse than any of my Uni exams I've taken to date as well as all my A levels and GCSEs. I'm sure you will be alright, I expect most people who are told by their instructor that they are able to take their test are easily capable of passing, it's just unforseen events and other crap drivers doing stupid stuff which catch other people out. I've probably told you, but I passed on my second try after driving awfully but getting no major faults, but failed my first one after doing a near perfect drive and then one mistake.
Just went to the pub with a load of mates (it was another girls bday) at lunchtime and had a few, that was quite fun. Then had some with the parents. Seeing Chris Addison live (!!!!!!!!) on friday in leeds and then probably going out and getting hammered on saturday. happy days.

'grats on the offer from exeter, had anymore?
Nah, I'm afraid that the Wanderers is already taken and Canterbury was never a test ground.

Although, in saying that, seeing as the Wanderers was the pick made for Aussie, I'll give you preference given Aussie's ban.
Marcuss, it's your choice of ground in the Pre-War Draft. You're the last guy up so it would be useful to finalise it!
Congrats on the Uni Offer BTW!
So it's very much doable, but bloody hard work, by the sound of it. I did English and Biology myself at A Level, never came across anyone who did the same combination.

Anyway many many congratulations mate. You'll love uni, it's a bloody amazing time, and Exeter is a good 'un
That's tough - but you're doing 4 IIRC - does that mean if you get AAAE you get in? What about AABB?
Too right I'm interested! That's fantastic news. Congratulations. Who is the offer from? Where else are you waiting to hear back from?
Wouldn't expect to see him back for a while though. Hopefully he can help us when the Christmas fixture congestion hits. Denilson and Diaby should be worried if this guy can come back without losing anything.
