And I know all that about Vaughan...that was my whole point. If a player has a specific record somewhere, it will count to the people and players of that country, and to that player. It is a hugely psychological sport as you know, and these things do matter.

Well what I read was that his record in Oz stinks and that will be a factor because these things always are, regardless of how much things have changed.

A comparison would have been if Vaughan had played in 06-07...the Aussies would have feared him just based on his record there, regardless of the fact he had plateaued off hugely

Look mate, no-one is more patriotic round here than me, and there's pretty much no-one who I could really say is a bigger fan of Jimmy Anderson either. But I really think you are getting wound up by things that aren't there. People had doubts about Anderson prior to the series, he's bowled well so far, but there's a long way to go. There should hopefully be plenty of time for us to be smug in a few weeks!

Get in there! Congratulations mate, that's absolutely excellent. Doesn't mean you shouldn't still work your arse off to get 4 As/A*s though, which for one thing is a nice thing to have on your CV, but it does take the pressure off.
