  • (Part 2) Baseball has a huge presence in Central America, Korea, and Japan. All of those regions have their own professional leagues, but their best players sign with a MLB team at the first opportunity they get (again due to the millions they can make here). So MLB's "World Series" is considered the most important event in baseball. Each baseball season culminates in a playoff system which leads to two teams battling in the World Series each year. The team I follow, the Texas Rangers, have made it to the last 2 World Series but lost each time. :-(
(Part 1) There used to be a "Baseball World Cup" that took place every year until last year. It's been discontinued and was never really that popular tbh. No professional baseball players from the US were allowed to participate and hence no one in the US ever paid any attention to it. As far as the US goes, Major League Baseball (MLB) is the only league that matters. When we talk about professional baseball here, we're talking about MLB. Due to the amount of money that can be made playing the sport of baseball (and American sports in general), pretty much all of the best baseball players from the world aspire to become MLB players.
Haha, no a perma ban is only used in extreme cases. You'd accumalate infractions first for insulting a member that will lead to a ban. If you came back and persisted with the same stuff, then you'll face a longer ban. If you do it again, well third time's the charm and can lead to a perma. You're a generally nice guy though, so I doubt it will ever come to that. :-)
You're treading a thin line my man. You can't call out members like that. It's going to get you likely banned. I suggest you put him on ignore if he bothers you that much.
Most likely won't get a chance as I'll be at work. But I'll be following along on Cricinfo closely. How about you?
Edited your post in the obituaries thread and gave you a warning. I don't know what that post said exactly and I'm sure it would have only been a message of respect for the dead, but if you read the rules you'll notice we have a "all posts must be in English" rule. This is primarily so people can't insult people and get away with it because their target/the mods don't understand, and while I'm sure that's not what you were doing, it's a uniform rule we enforce consistently.
Sucks that you have to wait, but I guess it does give you the opportunity to make the best of it. Don't worry about missing out on watching a game in Dubai. We'll be playing there for the forseable future so you'll get a chance again!

My days have been very busy due to work. Already looking forward to the weekend. I need a break man! :-)
Haha, thanks. I wonder if I'm the first person to make 30,000 posts on CricketWeb having already done it on another forum before.

Sorry lad, my response was pretty curt I admit. Was just in a bad mood and not having the best of days. Didn't realise you were joking. No offense taken.
I will when I can watch it. For some reason I can't ut00b on my laptop at the moment (just freezes Chrome) so I'll have a look when I go on my PC.
