8th Match - Afghanistan v England

Especially Wood. He is 35 years old. theres no history of a single successful long career of an express quick above that age. Most express quicks retire by that age on average. Id say this is the last year of his career- and in Tests, he will definitely be overlooked for Gus, Potts and Carse who are the first picked now.

Archer is only 29, less than when Bumrah had his big comeback recently. Again they would just keep Archer for shorter format stuff.
England aren't going to overlook Wood our top wicket taker in 21/22 and our best bowler along with Woakes in 2023.

He's our first choice bowler for the Ashes. It's just how well they manage him through this tournament and English summer.

They definitely will want Archer for the Ashes too.

We don't have enough top bowlers
I'd have had Topley/Woakes in the squad. Just Key/McCullum obsessed with the fastest bowlers they can pick.

Side is completely unbalanced without a proper all rounder too.

As Livingstone/Root ain't a good enough fifth bowling option when Wood/Archer/Rashid aren't at the same level as they've been in the past.

Overton is just a pointless pick in this format.

300 definitely on here. As with a number of games, get through the new ball and then it seems very easy to bat. But England's bowling has offered up so many boundary balls again, there's just no control.

I wish you guys rest wood this summer to keep him fresh for ashes😉

... Still too early IMO for Zadran & the rest of the batsman left to completely pull the trigger as they run the risk of getting bowled out for less than 260.

This is a great chance for 300+ if they bide there time with about 4 or so overs to go and then unleash.

With wickets in hand they could be up to 260-270 then.
