8th Match - Afghanistan v England

Qlder

International Regular
So England have had it easy like India with 2 games in a row at the same ground. How'd they manage that?

Also is this the same as the pitch Eng and Aus scored 350+ on?

Wood and Archer are never fit for more than a few games. Waste of time persevering with them.
Especially Wood. He is 35 years old. theres no history of a single successful long career of an express quick above that age. Most express quicks retire by that age on average. Id say this is the last year of his career- and in Tests, he will definitely be overlooked for Gus, Potts and Carse who are the first picked now.

Archer is only 29, less than when Bumrah had his big comeback recently. Again they would just keep Archer for shorter format stuff.

A fresh one two surfaces to the side apparently, so we know that 300 really should be the bare minimum for the Afghans here to be anywhere near par.

Ibrahim Zadran has the technique, talent and athleticism to develop into a world class batter.

Still only in his early 20s. Been super impressed everytime I see him bat.

Don't wanna put the mockers on him but Omarzai is a brilliant young talent..

46 with the bat , 31 with the ball ..

He probably gets into every teams squad, highly underrated all rounder

It might just have been standard strapping that all fast bowlers seem to have, but there was a lot of white tape on his legs.

I'd be surprised if we saw him again in this match/tournament....which probably ends on Saturday anyway. Then he's got 3 months off really until the India series.
They said on comms that he admitted his knee was completely battered after the first game. Apparently it’s to do with the landing area. He fell over a dozen times against Australia.
