Think the reverse of this is true for the England team.Slightly annoyed that 2 of the 3 England games are Saturday mornings when I'll be playing golf
Strong team on paper that, but England are woeful at chasing, so they'll really want to be batting first and setting a score 330+England XI: Phil Salt, Ben Duckett, Jamie Smith (wk), Joe Root, Harry Brook, Jos Buttler (capt), Liam Livingstone, Brydon Carse, Jofra Archer, Adil Rashid, Mark Wood
bowling attack is absolute toilet. mahmood must have done something wrong behind the scenes to not make it over those two durham pie chuckers. #BringBackHomeyWoakes
I did wonder about that..... I share the reservations of others. I am glad that Smith is in but it is a huge risk that he plays at 3. We are still also a spinner short. Not sure about the seam selection either.Think the reverse of this is true for the England team.
With the bowling attacks on display, I think 350s are more likely than 150s!Ignoring the usual hubris from this fool, this seems an impossible one to call. Either team is as likely to score 350 as it is 150 (in fact the latter far more likely). Hoping that England bring Smith back in to bat 6 with the aim of getting 10 overs out of Livingstone/Root. I'm guessing the seamers will be Archer, Wood, Carse.
Slightly annoyed that 2 of the 3 England games are Saturday mornings when I'll be playing golf........but that might be a blessing.
Fitting as heaven knows both teams will be miserable come the end of the group stages!Have two Smiths ever batted at #3 in an ODI before?
Having Smith at 3 or 4, what difference does it make?Is having Smith up at 3 worth it when Root is no mug there, I don’t know, but I guess we’ve done OK putting wildcards in that position of late! Other than that, the batting lineup is pretty much the best we can put out at the moment, seen a few say it’s a little bit thin, but Carse at 8 is fine, what we’re missing is obviously another spinner
You could argue that whoever bowls those 10 overs from Aus, it's still pretty average stuff. But at least they have an extra seamer should that be more suited to the pitch.Have to say England looks much stronger than the Australia A side. Only weakness is Livingstone and Root make up the 5th bowler while Australia has Hardie, Maxwell, Head and Short to choose from
