Also if they’re “basically minnows” and they fail in that country, how is that not more of a black mark against someone who’s supposed to be “best” in Asia? They don’t even have a good record in a minnow country in Asia?! But they’re the best in Asia?! Makes so much sense.

X and Y players are candidates for best batsman in Asia.
X has a great record everywhere in Asia, except one country where he is merely good, against a decent team.
Y has a great record everywhere in Asia, except one country where he is quite poor, against the worst team.

Somehow this doesn’t carry any weight towards the argument? Surely you can see the illogicality in that.

I don’t see how anyone can make a logical argument that failing against a bad team is somehow not worse than failing against a good team. (which is not even the case here, since Younis didn’t fail in SL)

I'd just cut off sub-test standard sides when discussing best in Asia regardless of performance tbh but if they're to be involved then sure.
