Nah, Younis has no weakness in Asia. Mahela is mid in Pakistan and poor in UAE. Gavaskar was poor in SL. Tendulkar mid in Pakistan. Sehwag poor in Bangladesh. Younis’ SL record isn’t great, but its pretty good.
Tbf SL and Bangladesh were pretty much minnows when they played against so not sure how significant and SRT averages 40 in Pakistan, which includes his debut series at 16.

Difficult list to make, especially if it includes non Asian batsmen with their lower sample sizes. DRS now makes a difference too.

SLA was more likely to trouble Younis than off spin. Would have been interesting to watch him v Jadeja in the DRS era.

He struggled in ODI but still did well v off spin. Shouldn't have batted no3 so much.

Murali by 2009 was washed and it was one of the flattest pitches ever.
scoreline read

644/7
765/6
144/5

and 2009 Murali averaged 45, 6 tests later he'd retire.

here is what was said on the pitch

Despite the late excitement, it was a predictable and fair result on the placid pitch. Neither team finished their first innings completely and had to declare - not the perfect advertisement for Test cricket, especially since this was Pakistan's first home Test in 16 months.

Jayawardene averaged above 40 in Asian tests with below average runs-per-wicket (excluding minnows).

Obviously not a perfect metric, but it coincides with his excellent record at Galle which is very spin-friendly. Has some classic knocks there.

That made me giggle.
Yeah that's too much box ticking.
If you want someone to be the best in Asia they should be good in all the Asian countries. Also if they’re “basically minnows” and they fail in that country, how is that not more of a black mark against someone who’s supposed to be “best” in Asia? They don’t even have a good record in a minnow country in Asia?! But they’re the best in Asia?! Makes so much sense.
