Younis played against Ash and Jaddu in tests??

I did the math, taking average as number of runs per dismissal, he'd have to average...36, against pace, against any pace.

He batted in spinning conditions at home. Will have faced spin a decent percentage of the time.
FTR I don't think it's 100. And as far as I know, no Stats exists for how much he scored against each bowler individually. The average is just the average score he was on while getting dismissed. And that's kinda really high for individual spinners. 73 for Qasim, 97 for Mushtaq, 86 for Gibbs, 71 for Qadir, even 53 for Underwood.

If Jarrod really cited this, I'm unsubbing him.

I thought you just got an anomaly beside Bradman and Grace.

Dude, if Gavaskar literally averaged 100+ vs spin (like runs vs them/dismissal), I don't think there's really any saving of his pace record.
If somebody averaged 100 against spin, no matter what he'd average against pace, he would still be an anomaly.
(TBH averaging 100 against spin and then averaging in the 30's against any kind of pace sounds like a bigger "anomaly" than Don and Grace)

All 3 would be in Top 10, alongside Tendulkar, Lara, Hammond, Hobbs, Bradman, Sobers and Jayawardene. Honourable mentions: Kallicharran, Viv, Laxman, Azharuddin, Salim Mallik, Miandad, Kanhai, Weekes, Compton, Hutton, Headley, Sutcliffe, Border, Smith, Root, Inzamam and especially Clive Lloyd.
The most adept players of googly bowling pre-1914 were Trumper, Hobbs and Jack Hearne, all with different methods.

During the 1920s and 1930s the batsman with the highest reputation against spin on dry pitches was Bill Ponsford. Ray Robinson described his footwork as like a boxer's. "Crab-like mobility." "So certain in his bent-kneed, short-paced advance to the pitched-up ball." Robinson said he was better against leg-spin than Bradman who disliked committing himself early to the front foot. It was said that the sound of heavy rain during the night prevented Ponsford from sleep, worrying how the wicket would play. Post-war, Arthur Morris enjoyed a similarly high reputation.

Hutton played spin from the crease. Following his arm injury he had a weakness against off-spin. Athol Rowan dismissed him 11 times in Tests. He also fell to Ian Johnson on four occasions during the first two Ashes series after the war. Over half his fifteen dismissals by these two were lbw or bowled through the gate.

There is literally no way that Gavaskar stat is real. Ball by ball data wasn't even recorded for most tests so it's lost to time.
I'm pretty convinced that Jarrod referred to this.

Which is a very weird thing to cite. Does Jarrod not know that this only accounts for the total runs he scored when he got dismissed by spinners, not actual runs scored against them?
