Very interesting view from one of the new gen players. I feel sometimes we underrate the difficulties of the shorter formats.
we're currently in one of the toughest ever batting eras for test cricketTravis Head was saying the same.
There is no doubt scoring quickly with time constraints isn't easy, especially with the ceiling being lifted on possibilities/capabilities.
But I just think of you faced high quality attacks and challenged almost every time (game & opponent) with seam/spin in test cricket they wouldn't be saying it so easily.
Why is that? Less regard for your wicket? Getting through tough periods & challenging moments seems to be a lower threshold & games are rarely getting to 5th day wickets.we're currently in one of the toughest ever batting eras for test cricket
i think it’s a weird take in that the stakes are also much lower for t20 than they are for a test match which i don’t think they’re factoring inTravis Head was saying the same.

It’s also worth noting there have always been attacking players who take the game on, but there are more of them these days. Going a fair way back, you would have a bloke like Doug Walters in your side and he would be a lock at six, never higher, because the orthodox approach was to see off the new ball. Different approach these days, largely born of LO cricket imo
