Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
Spitting into ones hands is hardly a Ponting only habit, I see it all the time in club matches. There's a small but definite proportion of bowlers, especially spinners, who lick their fingers as well.

As for people carrying lollies etc in their mouth, if teams aren't getting sunscreen or other skin products on the ball that could help polish it, they must be super-duper careful because those things are everywhere in a cricket match.

Can't they just mandate some special kind of cream that can be applied instead, in a moderation they specify?? Don't seem to be an unreasonable approach to the root problem.
This can be a practical way to get some sort of balance back.

Question is: what solultion would best mimic saliva?

In the MLB, there’s the mud that they apply on their balls…and then they have the rossum bag that improves grip

Probs some kind of sunscreen with specific mandated ratios?? I mean, ICC definitely have the means to sort that out.

Australia-England Test to mark 150 years of Tests scheduled for MCG on March 11 in 2027

If it's half as good as the 1977 and 1981 Centenary Tests then this will be a classic.

I can't believe they've scheduled it during the IPL and both Aus and Eng have written to IPL teams saying you can't have our players until after this Test. Take that T20, Test cricket lives 😘
