Webster is so much fun. Test debut at 31. Smashes India and bumrah around on an inconsistent green top and takes some poles bowling medium pace. Now he's come to Sri Lanka, made a handy 31 during a classic Australian collapse on a spinning deck, taken 2 wickets bowling offies and taken a few blinders with his 6 foot 8 buckets. What can't he do?
Fit inside a standard-sized box

(I'm talking about protective cricket equipment)

Hes a Tall Aussie version of Gary Sobers.

Now for the ODI's. Good news is there's now a 2 day break before ODI so no need to rest players (except maybe rest Starc). I'm thinking:

1. Head
2. Short
3. Smith (c)
4. Inglis +
5. Labuschagne
6. Hardie
7. Maxwell
8. Abbott
9. Ellis
10. Zampa
11. Johnson

Bench: McGurk, Carey, Connolly, Dwarshuis, Sangha, Starc (rested)

Maybe the only big question is put Carey in for Labuschagne?

lol it was supposed to be a single day gap between the final test and the first ODI

Hardie is meh. Maxwell is enough to cover the extra 10 overs along side Short and Head

That one day between was also a travel day to get to Colombo. At least now they have most of today plus 2 full days before the ODI starts

If Hardies not bowling ide take Carey over him and just back the part time spinners to make up the junk overs. You've got 4 guys who bowl in that top 7 semi regularly without him.

series ratings

usman 9/10 - good stuff
head 4/10 - mediocre stuff
marnus 2/10 - bad stuff
smith 10/10 - great stuff
inglis - 7/10 - easy ton stuff
webster na/10 - catch cheater
carey 8/10 - good stuff
cooper connolly - should be a good story to tell his y12 class-mates at recess next week.

not rating the bowlers because did you see some of their wicket taking deliveries?

Whatever it takes!!!
Excellent from Australia. Real allround dominance.

SL really seemed to have either lost interest with the WTC final not a possibility and/or underestimated Australia. They have shown repeatedly they have learnt to play (bat) in these conditions just like we (India) have in their conditions. Beating them in the SC is no longer a given. It has to be earnt.

Nice one. I laughed at the Webster part.
