Just quietly, these cover drives Smith is hitting against the turn from an offie bowling around the wicket are elite cricket shots, even if he’s only getting singles for them
Smith is obviously a great player but he’s also one of the best players of less than the highest quality of bowlers ever

Think about when he plays BBL - man v kids

The pitches were bowler friendly in the B-G and he took back to back tons from Bumrah. He just seems in a happy place
He's definitely in a better place, but they were both Day 1 tons where the bowling didn't offer a lot outside Bumrah. In the first he came in at 156-2 (even Marnus got runs) and in the 2nd Head smashed a ton with him. The Galle First Test was what you'd expect someone of his calibre to do given what others did as well. It also just exposes even further how poor Labuschagne has been in similar circumstances.

.. India will have been happy knowing that at least after the Sydney test loss that all the World Test Championship permutations are now set & they can move on.

Had they needed Sri Lanka to win/draw in this series it would've made the players sick watching this from their telly seeing Sri Lanka offer meek resistance.

Mcg ton came on road with platform set at 156/2. It is as useless as kohli ton at perth. That ton at gabba was great tho esp they way he survived bumrah and milked jadeja and reddy

That's true but also alot of times I really think that with Marnus scoring runs & having skittish Smith waiting around with the pads on so many times didn't help his mood either...

They could have solved that by playing better in the BG though

... That's easy to say when India have never won it.

The same way Indians didn't 'care' about test cricket conveniently in the 1980's and so on when they were getting beaten and all of a sudden when Australia's dominance ended and India racked up test records it soon became 'chic' again.

He has never bashed any minnows tbf. Unless you count England

Smith was getting impatient towards the end so break came at the right time for him. Think it's difficult to start on this so SL need which can lead to 2 or 3 easily.

Think though he was protected quite well from Bumrah for large periods of the series due to when he came in and how often the great man could bowl. At times he showed vulnerability against good spells but luckily for him Head, and even Konstas in Melbourne assisted him. His stint as an opener showed him struggled against the new ball.

No i geniunly care about test cricket and dont give ass about wtc even if we reach final because my team doesn't prepare well for it only to lose. I give more importance to winning in aus/ eng/nz and about second point its true that most indian or Pakistani or lankan fans care more about white ball except some people like me who love test cricket passionatly over t20 crap
