Yeah white ball cricket has killed him. I know it's the best way to make a living while Lyon's still the primary spinner, but I'd want him focusing purely on FC cricket for the next 12 months.

I think the Ashes did too. He's bowled ultra flat since then. Needs to work on slowing it up and getting the drift that he used to.

Re Australia in a serious bad place when Lyon retires. They are alright for now as hes still playing.. Murphy doesnt look test standard due to white ball cricket(which requires different style of bowling), and Kuhnemann is hot and cold, inconsistent- not suited to Aussie pitches in tests anyway but ok in overseas.

Kuhnemann the real deal especially away from home on Asia pitches. He destroyed a strong Indian side in one test also. He's the Aussie Jadeja. Turn, bite, spin on any subcontinent deck.

This match poses questions about the long term feasibility of test cricket outside the top 4-5 teams. SL obviously don't prioritize test cricket anymore. Just T20 and ODI.

Murphy is a talented bowler and I know that he wasn’t required in this test so this is a bit of a knee jerk thing but I really question his inclusion here

We’ve got part timers who can pick up the slack, Boland is a way better bowler in most conditions etc etc
