Didn’t Sobers playing in 1960s where the pitches were super easy to bat? Isn’t that the argument used for many for Barrington’s great record?
60s was certainly flat outside of perhaps England, not obnoxiously flat like 2000s or 1940s but decently flat.

The bowlers though for me has to be higher for team value, plus think Marshall was a better bowler than any batsman not nicknamed the Don.
I used to think this but this is just bad reasoning IMO to tilt it to bowlers by default. I assume parity between bowlers and bats and Viv, Hobbs, Sobers and Viv were more outstanding than Marshall in their disciplines. Tendulkar and Hobbs for longevity, Sobers for his period of absolute dominance and Viv for his peak and batting style.

Marshall doesn't quite make that because IMO he did have the downhill skiing somewhat.

Imran. Lillee. Barnes. Warne.

I choose Murali but Warne is just as good.

If Hobbs is good, then Barnes is good as well

I would rather have Marshall and Hadlee or McGrath over Imran and Lillee.
Yeah, that's a very solid team tbh. And Warne and Murali are equal as bowlers imo, but Warne was a great fielder, decent lower order bat and regarded as a great tactician by many; that should be noted.

TBF Imran is completely fine, he is very much a better batter than Hadlee even if a downhill skier, and his bowling is not that far, I know people who rate Imran ahead of Hadlee because Hadlee is a very conventional bowler while Imran brings in the reverse.

Lillee might be a bias pick though Yeah.

Which year did he make the team? Since there is no Murali
He was asked why he didn't pick Murali. He answered that he could pick Murali or Laker as off spinners, but he said that he just liked wrist spin more.

He also said that Australia always succeeded when there was a leg spinner and great pacers around him. That might have influenced his opinion.
