Shady Slim

Friend posed an interesting question today

Jordan Silk is an average T20 batsman but has been one of the world’s best fielders for years

He saves runs in the field every game and consistently makes match changing plays

What’s a better contract for an international franchise?

Silk on a minimum deal or someone who gets a massive contract on the basis of random batting success for one season?
welcome to the shady slim thought zone friend
i have always wondered why no IPL team has ever thought to do [a contract to have him field] with jordan silk

I'm giving this out
I think you could legitimately give this either way. I suspect he's knocked the bails out before the ball has touched them, a moment before the frame shows them lit up. But on the evidence, he had to be given out.

yeah based on that reverse angle side-on view it's out. where are fox's one billion frames per second 4k cameras ffs
Would've saved him I reckon.

yeah not sure, most of the angles were missing that 'in between' frame, but there was that one side-on shot (where edwards was on the left hand side) that had a frame where the ball was like a millimetre from the bails and they weren't lit up. so i think correct decision

Looks to me like Edwards was resting his hands on the stumps, deliberately holding the bails in place until the ball got there to break the stumps with his hands. Maybe I'm imagining things but very interesting technique if so

i reckon he knew it was on target but was going for the deflection off his fingers so he could get the champion player points on mycricket that are associated with an assisted run out

He'd definitely dislodged them before the ball got there, but not enough for the bails to light up. I guess you could argue that he nailed it, although given the batsman was a fair way short, a more conventional method would probably still have sufficed,

Yeah that's what I saw but despite moving the bails with his hands initially he was then gripping them to hold the stumps together to remain "unbroken"
