This is not about "rating" players based on their salary, it's just that they do care for money; after all it's one of the reasons why they play cricket.
Yes I understand but they are anyway making money, but IPL Records hold Zero Value in terms of Cricket
Legacy. Federer in Tennis 
is Respected for Winning a Grand Slam. Test Cricket is like a Grand Slam in Tennis and IPL is like an Exhibition Match.
