I only know 6 wrestlers.
John Cena
Rock
Brock Lesner
Alexa Bliss
Becky Lynch
Sasha Banks

Is any of them close to Bret Hart? Or maybe in the top 10?
in ring work, no one imo but I'll put Rock in the same tier because he had the crowds in the palm of his hand, def both in top ten for WWE atleast.

rock also loves Bret so a Rock W

Whatever it takes!!!
And that guy gets to say Bret screwed Bret. Imagine how bad Bret must have been.

PS - I am just messing around mate. I rate Bret at the very top levels of wrestlers I have seen. And he was a favorite of mine and I am really sad to see how it has gone for him since the screwjob.

Yeah I guessed you were joking lol, atleast he seems to be in peace in his elderly years.
Think sometimes he just took himself and his image too seriously for his own good. Funnily enough, its exactly what he seemed to accuse Hogan of, though I believe he was very much right about that. But I honestly think McMahon did a good thing by bringing him back in 2010 and helping him tide over some pretty significant financial difficulties and using him as a proper on-air talent inspite of his extremely constrained utility at that point inside the ring.

McMahon has done a lot of horrible things but I dont think we should forget the good things he did for the business and for some of the people in the business. It does not obviously justify any of the bad things he did but within the respective contexts, I do believe it should be acknowledged as I think Bret would be in very dire straits right now if not for Vince's help to him back in the 2006-2015 period.

Apart from with Bill Goldberg.

He's forgiven nearly everyone else who did wrong by him in his career. But regularly likes to, apropos of nothing, have a crack at Goldberg. It's kind of unhinged tbh, but also kinda great.

ignoring wrestling for a moment, both Bret Hart and Vince McMahon are very interesting people to me.

after reading Bret's book, I always came to the conclusion that Stu Hart really did raise his sons with an agenda and shouldn't have been a father, from everything I've read he seemed absolutely beyond obsessed with wrestling and combat sports, wanting Bret to win him an Olympic gold medal and if not that then pro wrestling. It really does seem like Bret grew with golden child syndrome and was coded from a young age to take everything as his responsibility and believe everything revolves around him, I've no doubt that his exaggerated sense of self led him to be the wrestler that he was but it also seems to have led him to a point where he can't really see himself as anything other than a wrestler, and thus taking his character and image and performances far too seriously, to a degree where I reckon it became unhealthy. After all, he blamed himself for the whole WCW debacle at the end and wanted to tough up when there was something very clearly wrong with him after 1999 Starrcade. Imo He had a very toxic mindset that led to self destruction.

Vince McMahon I reckon is kind of just evil, the Ashley Massaro thing and now the current cases, I truly believe that Vince after being ***ually abused by his mom lost all his moral compass and became a weird control freak that he still is, still, I respect the contributions Mr McMahon made to the buisness but sadly can't respect the person behind the character at all.

I think they're working sometimes, Because there's just no way Gunther would randomly bring up Goldberg in front of Bret if they were actually beefing seriously.

Haha I dunno, I think it could be legit. Gunther bringing it up in Canada, and saying how Goldberg was better than Bret, was a great way to get heat (not to mention, really ****ing funny).
