Lol. No way Aravinda is a better bat than Flower (with due respect, love Aravinda). And like, if they don't even have Healy in the team, no ways Stewart is keeping over Flower.

What is the point of Broad ?
I would rather have Wagner for his left arm variety and bowl long spells
Broad brings nothing to the attack when you have Steyn and Anderson

Combined side only using the 22 players named by Sportskeeda:
Cook, Taylor (although I'd have Anwar if selected) Lara, Sachin, Smith, Waugh, AB (although I'd have Healy if selected*), Wasim, Warne, Steyn, Ambrose

7-4 to the 90s

*This would've made it 8-3

Team A : 1) Saeed Anwar 2) Graham Gooch 3) Brian Lara 4) Mark Waugh 5) Sachin Tendulkar 6) Steve Waugh 7) Ian Healy 8) Wasim Akram 9) Shane Warne 10) Curtly Ambrose 11) Allan Donald. Took Mark Waugh because he scored more runs in this decade and was also a handy bowler and of course an amazing fielder.

Gooch only played until 1995 which isn't enough of the decade imo.

Andy Flower only averaged 44.48 from 39 tests in the 90s. Aravinda averaged 46 from far more tests. MWaugh averaged less but played many key match winning innings at key moments

Just pick Dravid for the 90s team and put him at 6. He played fewer tests than Aravinda (about as many as Flower) but was better than them and averaged ~50 with some magnificent tours in SA, WI, NZ, Eng.

But Gooch was the 3rd highest run scorer for England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 in the 90s only behind Stewart and Atherton, and among 11 players who scored more than 4000 runs in 90s. Decent enough to be in a 90s team in my opinion.

Gooch in 1980s - 3970 runs at 38.54 average, Gooch in 1990s - 4176 runs at 51.55 average. Cricket saw Gooch 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 at his best in the 90s
