That's because it was half way through his peak but he qualifies unless you want Ntini.

Steyn’s record isn’t half bad in the 00’s either. Depends if a player can only play for one decade or not.

Steyn really only came good 2007 onwards but yeah he has a case. But already selected in the 2010s side.
I think Gavaskar comes in 70s so better to include Desmond Haynes
