Lol. You really think Flower would be able to keep to Murali or Marshall?
So just took a brief glance at some of the matches that Flower kept while batting at 5.

Has anyone ever looked at the amount of byes he let through?

So just for kicks and giggles I took a look...

I'm seeing innings with 17, 19, 14. Then I found a game with 0, and would you guess it, it was a game he captained but didn't keep.

Decided to look at Gilly, and again totally random, and just a handful, but the most I found in a game was 6. Multiple games with 0, keeping to leggies that turned the ball ferociously and Brett Lee.

The gentleman wasn't a world class keeper.

Again I ask, don't we think that if a keeper who batted like him and was world class existed, that we wouldn't have heard about it.

And on the flip side, do you know how poor one would have to be as a keeper who averaged over 50, and is never in an ATG discussion?

If no other question @capt_Luffy and @DrWolverine think about that one. How badly would one have to perform as a keeper, that you would average over 50 and get no consideration or discussion for an AT World team.

If Alan Knott kept to Prasidh Krishna bowling his first two overs at the SCG, and let a ton of byes - is that on Knott or on Krishna?

Not saying it’s as simple as that, but it’s also not as reductive as you made it.

For a one off yes, but this was consistent, and he was consistently bad.

Still waiting for @capt_Luffy and @DrWolverine to respond to my previous question.
1) He played for Zimbabwe, for many that doesn't even counts in discussion (e.g.: Cricinfo didn't even had him as an option to vote for)
2) He consistently kept to utter crap who won't get picked for Australian State Teams
3) He wasn't a Great keeper by any means
4) Gilchrist exists, making his selection more pointless

Andy Flower had twice the workload as Gilchrist in both batting and keeping. Not saying he is a pick in ATG team but do not think it is very outrageous.
