it was seen to be before wasnt it? hes their best bat statistically over a decade..based on the celebration it is still a big wicket.
He was absolutely furious with himself walking off the ground…and well, he hadn’t learned a thing yet

Great day at the ground. Will try go again tomorrow

I guess its a good ball. Its easy for the batters to fish at those deliveries. He doesnt have a technique to simply leave the tough deliveries. He either plays and scores, or plays and gets out. No leaving technique whatsoever. An all or nothing technique at this level. Dont know how he was one of the greats before, obviously his technique has declined as he got older and/or the wickets got much tougher to bat on (a combination of the two factors it looks like).

Tough wicket also. Hes gotten mostly tough pitches ,wickets this series bar the Perth road in the 2nd innings.

Due to Guinness-induced insomnia some of this last session was the first I've watched live. From comments I thought the pitch was a version of an English seamer with a bit of added zest, I didn't fully appreciate the spiteful bounce. It seems to have brought India's support seamers into the game, so been quite the leveller. Boland looked superb, even if Cummin's canniness in slinging down a wide one may have clinched the game.

India have been disappointing the series but hope they can take this to the wire and go out with a bang, whatever the result.

I'd like to think Webster's fifty is due in some small part to his time spent on the green club wickets of middle England 🙂

I wonder what the narrowest range of innings totals is in test cricket?

Out of interest do India treat A-team cricket as a pathway to test cricket?
Yes A- team in foreign conditions is best way to make to test team. All the players like gill pant siraj sundar and nitish kumar reddy came through A- team system. Peak of our success between 15-22 came because of it.it was working well till covid. But post covid with that idiot ganguly sacked shastri and promoted dravid who was A- team coach to team india coach and also with reduced A- cricket our team is struggling

Scott Boland's Test record as a "spare" is insane!

13 Tests, 54 wkts @ 18.25, SR 39.2

I think the automatic selection of "Big 3" when fit is finished and it should now be the "awesome foursome" with pitch conditions and/or rest rotation deciding which 3 pacers play

SL tour only has Starc & Boland available on spinner decks anyway but this should be the way forward on the WI tour in July (3 tests) and the Ashes next summer
