2024–25 NZ domestic season

I have no memory of it but it looks like Sclanders bowled 8 overs in a one-day game earlier this season. He's the sixth option over Guptill, probably.

I know WOD had to bowl because of the injury, but geez it's hard to watch bog average off spinners take wickets. Foxcroft and that American dude had no right the other day in Alex, either

O'Rouke doesn't really have the changeups to keep batsmen second guessing, and this is entirely based on vibes but he feels like one of those blokes who takes 3 or 4 overs to really find his rhythm and hit top speed.
I'd rather O'Rouke's international opportunities being limited to Tests and ODIs for 18 months or so. Still has plenty to learn about T20 bowling.

O'Rourke and Jamieson opening with Shipley first change - fitness permitting could be a dream NZ boring attack.

Oh yeah and Gus McKenzie too.......
Gotta feel bad for Gus McKenzie, all he needed to do was not get absolutely pumped and the other four internationals around him would do the job (and another two didn't bowl).

Some decent pace-off balls too. There can be a role in T20I for someone who hits a hard length and has an easy action that lets him watch the batter until the last moment and maybe roll the fingers etc. Thinking of Josh Hazelwood.
135kph on a hard length from 6'5" will never go out of fashion

Interesting how much O'Rourke got smashed though, shows what a different skill set this is from test/FC cricket.
His control of length is pretty lousy and doesn't get punished as badly in tests. All he needed to do here was bowl 6 balls at the stickers but doesn't have that level of control yet.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing
The Ship is back on course!

Canterbury losing with a 6 international capped bowling attack vs a side with 2 is pretty funny (though rippon and mcconchie didn't bowl)

Bowes should really be in nz's jam xi ahead of Robinson
He really shouldn't.

I've had it with 33yo journeymen and NZ cricket, even though we have an illustrious assocation with them. Bowes just this generation's Shannan Stewart.

At least with Robinson there is a hope he may rise above that level. There is also the possibility he may not even get to that level, of course.

Hadn't seen BJ Jacobs bat before, there's a serious player in there. Needs to get the PEWS BOSH tag off him, he looks a lot more than that.
The off-drive for six off Jamieson was so good. Aside from the surprise IPL deal it was his Plunket Shield form that convinced the Black Caps selectors to pick him.

Jacobs took some nice catches as well. His power hitting looks a cut above anything on display on the recent NZ vs Sri Lanka T20 series.
