Had Hazlewood not broken down this would've been the right time to rotate him. Now we're at risk of 2020/21 happening again.

10000% this. He's always **** by the end of s long series. Failure to rest the quicks is the biggest reason we lost previous home series to India

That's just standard shot selection which goes for any shot in the book. The idea that one particular shot has to be singled out as against the spirit of Test batting is silly. He played a shot that wasn't suited to the field, no more than a guy caught hooking does yet no one calls them ruining the game for some so this shot being singled out just doesn't stack up IMO

It’s not ruining the game or whatever, but at the same time it’s a lot dumber than hooking out to the legside fielder.

One is premeditated (and in this case on one of the biggest grounds in the world) to a fielder in the deep and the other is just instinct.

Head sore and with a calf issue, Marsh not 100%, an already very old side... this would be one of the weakest outfield sides in terms of pace Oz have fielded for a long time.

It's right to rest him. I never thought the rest/rotation policy was a bad idea

Should depend on their confidence in Richardson or Bartlett to stay fit throughout the match really. They'd both be great options.

If it gets down to Sabba or Doggett I think I'd probably rather gamble on a tired Starc.

I'd bet on Sabba to jam out at least a few wickets in between getting Hogg-piled.
