Ravichandran Ashwin retires from international cricket

But yeah. Great career. When Lyon also retires, spin bowling will again have a big hole to fill at the international level.

I want to know what the rules are on Retirement Threads....
If you look at the official rules list, there's nothing there.

Pulling it out of his arse. Be as disrespectful as you want until someone actually provides written documentation that isn't just a passing comment on a thread from 5 years ago.

This is pretty funny if for no other reason than so many Ashwin fans taking the piss out of Swann for this for years.

But still, what a bowler.

And don't forget, he #canbat.

I am massively angry with the direction of Indian Cricket in last few months .
Ashwin retires after 1 bad home series whereas Rohit and Kohli are still in the team after doing nothing for 5 years .

Number of MoS awards in Test
Ashwin: 11( World record )
Kohli: 3
Rohit :1
Guess which player had to retire after 1 bad series.

I really don't think India will find a replacement for him soon, if at all. Other spinners have benefitted massively from his presence and he's made bowling spin in India look a lot easier than it is, outside of the odd minefield. Arguably the greatest match winner at home since Bradman.
make flatter pitches and win through kuldeep's accuracy/variations and bumrah's reverse as well as jaiswal, gill, pant putting up massive scores.

sort of like the mid 2000s-early 2010s where ind did similar with kumble and zaheer.
