Bumrah is living in the aussie bats heads. At least if you bring in a 19 year old Konstas who did well in Aus A and PM XI vs India he can bat without baggage.

He didn't really do that well in the Aus A games though. Good innings at the end but nothing at all before that

This speculation from Rohit on what Ashwin is thinking is a bit hilarious

Also a bit confused at this timing

Marshall retired when he was 33, I don't want Bumrah to play tests beyond 34.

The worst that can happen is no fast bowling talent flowing into the side which forces Bumrah to extend his career as a "leader of the attack".

Of the 15 visiting bowlers in test history with more than 50 wickets in Australia, Bumrah has the best bowling average of 17.15. Hadlee (17.83) and Ambrose (19.79) are second and third on the list. He also had the best SR with 41 with Hadlee (43.8) and Ambrose (48.1) again being second and third. What is quietly unbelievable is that he has basically the same economy rate as Hadlee and Ambrose despite playing in the modern era bowling in tests where for example, Travis Head is scoring centuries at run a ball and you have so many third innings hit outs to set a total. One of the best ever to do it.
