There is no more domestic cricket until Boxing Day?

2 weeks and 1 day. In the middle of summer.

Where does the money go?

Gillette Cup is under way. Anyone we should look out for?
I see Westlake's Jordan van Zyl won NZ Young Player of the Year in March. Family immigrated to NZ about 18 months ago. Was top run scorer at last years Gillette Cup.

Will look out for him. 60-odd in the first game.

HG Rumball - great name aside - of CBHS has scored in the first 2 rounds. They are always so strong. Why?!

I'm guessing that aside from (presumably) top facilities/ coaching parents of good cricketers try to send their kids there? Might have a few scholarships as well.

More on the Westlake side. I suspect it will be between them and CBHS for the title.

The Napier Boys captain Jacob Cotter was CD under 17 player of the season last year. Write up from a game earlier this season.

Watson felt there were at least two occasions in the chase where the result could have gone Taradale’s way, not least because of the accomplished performance of teenage opening batter Jacob Cotter.

The Napier Boys’ High School player made 89 and created a strong impression upon his opponents.

“He’s pretty good and he seems pretty unruffled. He’s got a lot of talent and a lot of time and I think he’s a good rugby player too, so it’ll be interesting to see which way he goes,” said Watson.

“But I know he’s highly regarded at Taradale and he’s definitely one to watch.”

There's a guy playing for CBHS that has a name which is the same sound SteveNZ makes when he watches Fraser-McGurk bat.

One thing that I think has been very good for the overall standard of cricket in the PS has been the rescheduling from October/November to November/December. Batting averages in general are looking much healthier (unless you're a Wellington fan), innings totals have tended to lamd in the 250-350 range, and there's a much wider variety of bowlers at the top of the wicket charts. We even got a game where the spinners dominated! Hope the NZC makes it a regular thing.
Yes there were a few early-season-seamer innings in the first couple of matches but not many, and a lot more runs scored in the last couple of rounds. In fact, of the top wicket-takers for the season so far, many average above 30.

Some surprising names up the top, too.

Great to see Fisher doing well. He is one of the guys Wagner mentions in his book that he wanted to support at ND.

Westlake v CBHS today. Seems like the heavyweight showdown.

And it's going down to the wire. Westlake need 31 off 24 balls. Van Zyl just out for 69, 3 wickets in hand.

Update: CBHS win by 4 runs. Opening bowler Hanroux Wessels 4/41.

So cool to see Boult playing. I forgot about Joe Carter. Was in the NZ A team a couple of years ago but hasn't featured for ND this season.
