Smith of yesteryear is catching some of these hard chances

Old man Smith, no chance

That's not the most intelligent batting I've ever seen
He did something very similar only an over or two as well. He plays that shot very much low to high, and unless you're looking to actually bosh it for six that's never a good idea.

^I think it was a jinx that refused to turn.
I never post for jinxes mate. Just what I see.

That said, the way things are going, it wont surprise if we pull another one out of our ass for a win at Brisbane. Its just a matter of who lollapses harder in the first innings with both these sides. We are definitely the worse batting side, easily, esp. in these conditions but you never know if they bat first and lollapse bad, it can go either way.

But really, this is pretty much what we expected from this series all along. Bumrah's genius won us a game but that's about it, I am afraid, for this series.

Can't believe I'm agreeing with langer, but this is bad Cricket from nitish. Rana averages 40 in fc cricket and had runs this season. Stop hogging the strike FFS.

Yeah I agree - these are two reasonably talented but very brittle sides. Usually in that situation, whoever gets a decisive advantage by about lunch on Day 2 just frontruns and steamrolls the rest of the match, so it's all about who can win that first day.

Bye bye, Rana. Thought we'd stopped throwing up chumps like him. Being harsh tbf, he did bowl ok in one innings, but there's simply very little there to be hopeful about.

All this simply means we are going to drop Rana in probably the track that might suit him, Gabba. As we all conjectured, we needed to play Akashdeep here. But he is gonna play now at Gabba. Maybe they will bring back Washy again for Ash as they would want the batting insurance, even though Ash has definitely looked more likelly to take wickets than any spinner on show so far this series. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Am worried Cummins might overdo this (although I don't think Bumrah + Shami are good enough to make it kind of hurt). Although he's the only one that will likely rely on the bumper. Advantage of having Boland instead of Hazlewood.
