The thing with Russell is that probably his best action was standing up to Gloucestershire seamers in domestic cricket. Not saying he wasn't a fine keeper in test cricket until his last couple of years but I think it had more impact in Gloucestershire's successful years around the turn of the century in one day cricket.

Saw Dujon drop an absolute sitter yesterday when watching some old tape so it's not him.
Never really saw Knott play much but his name has echoed forever as one of the great glovesman.

Bob Taylor was the best, better than Knott, just not as good a batsman, he stood up to the stumps with fast bowler Ole Mortensen bowling really quick. he was a genius behind the sticks, if he had played for Surrey or Middlesex he would have got more recognition,

Jack Russell
I believe I read from a number of respected English posters (Peterhrt and Grecian), that Russell's keeping was sufficiently overrated. He was great against pace, but not so much against spin; and it even cost England a match, resulting him being dropped.

Think its close between TG Evans and Knott.
I am pretty sure that at worst Bob Taylor was a slightly better keeper than Knott. Tallon, Oldfield and Ray Jennings (though uncapped) also deserves mentions. Also pretty sure Dujon wasn't World Class to spinners, would rate Dhoni ahead as a keeper.

Those are not respected English posters. We usually defer to @sledger when it comes to English cricket knowledge and expertise.
