*Official* New Zealand tour of India 2024

The second test didn't get me, but definite tears in the eyes after that one.

Well done to Ajaz and Young this time ... someone different stood up massively in every test which is brilliant to see.
Similar sentiments here, most satisfying of the three wins. While it was a dead rubber and crucial toss to win, India’s bowling was back to somewhere close to its best, and with the first innings lead they had NZ in a more familiar position. Was a proper dogfight from then on.

The most succesful fingerspin combo of all time outbowled by a medium pacer who converted to a spinner in club cricket and a wicket keeper. Stocks in the "Finger spin is fraud" theory through the roof.
Ashwin was an opening batsman who rolled the arm over for most of his junior career tbf. Jadeja was a star batsman who bowled too.

Doesn't really detract from your point at all but so many of the best finger spinners did something else instead until they got to higher levels. Nathan Lyon wasn't even the best spinner in his family.

How quickly can SL come over for a quick white ball series? The boys need their confidence back before Australia

Now just imagine this same NZ team was steam rolled by us on similar wickets. What was the difference?

Batsmen were patient. Blocked the ball plenty of time, and let the heat take toll on the visitors. Just like English and Kiwis know when the ball swings and when not SC sides also should know how to press the advantage. Indian batsmen never did this. Infact if Pujara was playing, India may have won all three matches by just occupying the crease.

Eh I dunno, Ajaz has been pretty disappointing, I'd have been thinking about bringing Sodhi in for him anyway tbh.
TBF his recent form in Wankhede isn't the worst.
It's a left hand spinners deck and Ajaz is going to rip them to shreds.

Think we're at least 50 short of being a reasonable chance but either way Ajaz will still be frothing at the chompers.

India need to first start preparing some decent batting tracks like the ones in SL. These 200 par surfaces make for exhilarating viewing but also make batting a total lottery.

But they didn't. Deserved win by NZ.

Galle is a pathetic batting track. It provides with exiting matches becauseof abrasive surface allowing spin and reverse swing, but most SENA sides are done by the heat and humidity in Galle.

You bet they didn't.

That is the issue with India. They are bloody arrogant. They don't consider a boring batsman should be a part of their line up.

For us, it used to be Tillekaratne, Samaraweera and now Mathews. We at least consider such a batsman is needed.

I was really worried about Santner finding his radar on the Galle pitch. Luckily for us he didn't. Once he did he was deadly.

Idk about the arrogant part but I'd have included Pujara in the squad to Australia for this very reason. He didn't make huge scores last time there but his ability to blunt their attack, see off the new ball and wear down their bowlers made a huge difference in India's fortunes.
