Good news is CA is streaming the A games live for free. I've been watching the Shield matches by this stream whilst overseas so great it's not geo blocked like Kayo and all aussie TV channels.

Probably a bit harsh but Murphy appears to have stagnated while Roccxwyz has done consistently well
To me looks like he's bowled too flat and quick ever since the England tests. Isn't getting as much drift (which initially looked a real strength of his) or turn.

TBF there seems to be a lot of clearly better NSWelshmen either injured or having already left the state, but yeah he definitely seems to have an overly long rope from the NSW selectors relative to actual performance.

Still sprays it too much to be a good FC bowler, and at this stage of his career is unlikely to ever significantly improve on that
While he did bowl better last season that the one prior, I don't see any reason to pick him over Nisbet for NSW, let alone Australia A.

Absolutely, I rate Nisbet and would definitely think he should be a regular pick for NSW for this season. For the rest of the bowling attack Bird and Tremain (when he's fit again) should play most of the games, and as for other options Salzmann is probably worth a go imo, possibly Anderson (fought back damn well after a ropey start on 50 over dayboo), and even though this is less likely, I honestly believe Hanno Jacobs is worth a look, especially considering he has been in the wickets when he has played for the second XI both at times last season and his first game this one

I'm expecting khaleel to play over Dayal since he's in the reserves. I'd prefer Kotian over suthar and Porel over Kishan but the rest is the same
Khaleel is piece of ****. just dont know how he got into reserves🤦‍♂️ yes kotian is great but suthar has future prospect and has higher ceiling while kishan is better player of pace

Oh wow, Davies not selected in 1st game. Had to make way to fit Connolly in 😞

With that and Aussies bowling I might carry on with my day. Not overly excited to watch O'Neil, Doggett and Buckingham bowl (or Connolly)

And then there were 2. Harris and Konstas will open with Bancroft at 3.

So much for Bailey saying Bancroft will be given huge credit for his past 2 consistant seasons so his two shield failures this year don't matter 😀

Gaikwad out 1st ball to Buckingham, great catch from Phillippe

Comms just said Easwaran has four FC hundreds in a row coming into this match. In a bit of form then.

I keep saying it, it's clear the selectors are convinced that Connolly will be the next big thing. Whether they're right about that...

May well be the case but preferring him to Davies as a like for like replacement would be strange

It is if you're picking a proper team, it's not if you consider this mostly an opportunity for selectors to get another look at players they're seriously considering for the next 18 months

I think they've already penned in Connolly to play an Agar role in the 2 Sri Lanka Tests in Jan/Feb so they're giving him every opportunity before then.

Some more vintage Harris fielding there
Bancroft being an excellent close in catcher and Harris not really is the single biggest reason why Bancroft should always be preferred over Harris if it comes down to the two of them IMO. Harris is a deadset liability while Bancroft is actually good enough to manufacture extra wickets on this own
