*Official* New Zealand tour of India 2024

India settling nicely into their work. Quite the test of focus for NZ, Conway really needs to make this start count.

Whatever it takes!!!
The turn is always there in Pune but apparently this is a black soil pitch and not red soil and they just get slower and lower as the game goes on. This one may last the full 5 days and still be a draw. Although the players dont seem to have the mentality to play for a draw anymore.

We need to get to lunch only 2 down, another wicket for India and they will have won this session.

I'm sure I remember Rohit not listening to Sarfaraz on a review against England that turned out to be out.

Not that it mattered in the end as we will have lost the game. But a lack of respect for the bloke definitely!
The captains tend to listen to the older players more than the newbies when it comes to reviews, Sarfaraz might have got some more respect now.

Yeah the batsmen could look at this as getting through a tough a period rather than being in a hurry to put up runs on the board. But again, this NZ lineup does better against spin when it looks to score.

Yeah exactly. Umpires are definitely influenced by the appeal, and if it went their way and was reviewed it would have stuck. India don't seem like the old India who were the world champion appealers and even got fined for it a few times.

Why wasn't there a stronger appeal there?? That looked like taking out top of middle.

Surprised there was no review there, it was umpire's call so it wouldn't have been a wicket but they wouldn't have lost a review either.

Pretty even first session, credit to Conway for scrapping out another fighting knock, he's starting to get back to his unfashionable best.

Dont even have morons like denness match refereeing anymore, so definitely odd they're this wimpy with appeals.

The most idiotic was Ranjan Madugalle who among other things fined Prasad for a mild send off against Slater at MCG 1999.

Could be some sort of self-imposed restraint, Kohli when captain was never one to back down.

Conway definitely found something in the second innings of the 2nd Test v Sri Lanka. Almost an epiphany of 'even though my game is technically a bit of a mess, if I bat tough at the start and get to 20, I can succeed'.

Still think Bumrah missed a massive trick to him in the first 3 overs with the angles he created/didn't create. Still seeing that with the almost lbw shout there
