International Captain
India bowling their quota for the session, saving Test cricket one over at a time.
The captains tend to listen to the older players more than the newbies when it comes to reviews, Sarfaraz might have got some more respect now.I'm sure I remember Rohit not listening to Sarfaraz on a review against England that turned out to be out.
Not that it mattered in the end as we will have lost the game. But a lack of respect for the bloke definitely!
Yeah the batsmen could look at this as getting through a tough a period rather than being in a hurry to put up runs on the board. But again, this NZ lineup does better against spin when it looks to score. The turn is always there in Pune but apparently this is a black soil pitch and not red soil and they just get slower and lower as the game goes on. This one may last the full 5 days and still be a draw. Although the players dont seem to have the mentality to play for a draw anymore.
Sundar didn't appeal at all. Bit odd. I thought it was out live. Why wasn't there a stronger appeal there?? That looked like taking out top of middle.

Dont even have morons like denness match refereeing anymore, so definitely odd they're this wimpy with appeals.Yeah exactly. Umpires are definitely influenced by the appeal, and if it went their way and was reviewed it would have stuck. India don't seem like the old India who were the world champion appealers and even got fined for it a few times.
Geoff Howarth is a better comparison to Mike Brearley, I only saw the tail end of Howarth's career but he batted like a tailender, great captain though.Tom ‘Mike Brearley’ Latham. The specialist captain.
The most idiotic was Ranjan Madugalle who among other things fined Prasad for a mild send off against Slater at MCG 1999.Dont even have morons like denness match refereeing anymore, so definitely odd they're this wimpy with appeals.
Heh, the fact that this was right after the Ponting Srinath incident made it even sillier. The most idiotic was Ranjan Madugalle who among other things fined Prasad for a mild send off against Slater at MCG 1999.
And Bucknor and Bowden umpiring.Dont even have morons like denness match refereeing anymore, so definitely odd they're this wimpy with appeals.
As a loose, off the cuff opinion, I feel like we've dealt pretty well with the opposition's main strike force over the years...like we form a game plan around denying the guy who's most likely to run through us. I'm sure that's 100% wrong statisically, though. Why does Bumrah suck balls vs NZ
