Well howstat only has most wickets in x matches for bowlers so I’m going off 25. (Note these are just raw overall numbers, probably not their exact peaks. The format is most wickets in 25 matches rather than lowest average so they could have better runs of that length with less wickets maybe?)I’m thinking like a 40-50 innings ish peak.
Australia ofc has O’Reilly and Warne but even then I don’t think it’s gonna match Pakistan. Waqar, Imran, Wasim and then you have Akhtar. Imagine facing all 4 at their peak.
Pak
Waqar (90-94) 163 @ 17.44
Imran (81-86) 143 @ 14.24
Wasim (90-94) 136 @ 19.32
Ahktar (00-05) 121 @ 20.63
Just some other attacks I might put up against it.
Aus
Warne (02-05) 155 @ 21.48
Davidson (58-62) 139 @ 19.42
McGrath (95-97) 130 @ 20.60
Cummins (18-22) 128 @ 19.45
WI
Marshall (84-88) 148 @ 17.47
Ambrose (90-94) 130 @ 18.15
Holding (76-83) 127 @ 20.15
Garner (84-87) 123 @ 20.24
Using this specific method though, Gibbs seems a far more viable choice for a Windies XI (119 @ 22.93)
SA
Steyn (07-10) 146 @ 20.98
Donald (96-98) 141 @ 19.10
Tayfield (50-57) 136 @ 22.40
Pollock (97-99) 127 @ 18.81
