*Official* New Zealand tour of India 2024

You can't have three awful spells as a team in a Test and still hope to win. 46 AO, 233/7, and 54/7 are the damning junctures/numbers from an Indian pov. NZ would have to display stunning levels of incompetence tomorrow to outdo us.

He is fine at scoring under match situation pressure. More to do with conditions&bowling strength.
Not sure how that really holds up…he’s scored in England and Australia (and SA though minimal tests), and against both those teams too in India. And in India against those teams, and more.
Hard to say “conditions and bowling strength” when those same things usually have our top order at 100/5 when he has to come in and save the test.

His issue is he’s not really that likely to get you a 100 despite being a good bat (Ashwin has more 100s than him, being a lesser bat), and is also prone to dumb **** like today.

FTB Williamson must be seething about the fact that he's left his team to hang out and dry but they've managed to pull this off anyway.
Honestly, this might be some sort of attempted joke but it's immensely disrespectful of a guy who is probably our greatest cricketer of all time. Seen that line of derogatory stuff at him before the series and it's lame.

Agree, but 2nd to Sir Richard.

It would be perfect if we get the W today (even if it is by 1 wicket), then Kane comes back for tests 2 & 3 and gets a couple of big 100s as we win the toss, bat 1st, bat big, and win the series.

If NZ win , where would it rank in the greatest victories that NZ have managed ?

Would it be top 10 ?

Apologies if it's been said earlier, but there can't be many times when a side's second innings total is 10 times as much as their first innings.

Do the rest of you find that scoring a high proportion of 90s makes an opposition batsman more loveable? the damage is pretty much the same as 100 but now you feel empathy when they go out instead of glee.

Unless you hate them, probably to an extent? But yeah, if you hate them, it definitely cheers you up somewhat.
