Spot on.

Uppercut was an insane punch to be throwing.

Simple advice like keep your hands up and throw straight punches would have done AJ a world of good.
The positioning of AJ's guard has been getting worse and worse since parting ways with Derrick James.

Nigel Benn has a pretty extraordinary story

Has lived in Australia for years and very few knew he was here until his son started fighting

Does a lot of work with underprivileged kids and kept an extremely low profile

So yeah props to "his excellency" because without him we are not getting Bivol v Beterbiev.
I'm leaning towards a Bivol masterclass but obviously not with much confidence.
Wardley v Clarke was a really fun fight first time round so looking forward to that one.
Not much else to get excited about, Nicolson will win by UD in another boring fight, Whitikar will dance his way to an easy points win, Eubank will batter a Polish postman while Jai will get well paid for easy work , meh.
The two main fights though mean it should be excellent.

Is it just me or has Opetaia had a few soft fights since winning the title

I know he fought Briedis again but he was inactive and there were rumours about his commitment

Beterbiev is on another level IMO. Love Bivol but I think Beterbiev has too many tools, unless the knee injury has ruined him.

I think Opetaia vs Massey will be competitive. Massey is a decent fighter IMO.

First things first AJ got found out big time - Dubois absolutely destroyed him.

Tyson Fury was supporting his cousin at the weekend and gave his thoughts on current events.
Beterbiev vs Bivol this weekend - October 12th in Saudi will be an epic battle.

IBF has ordered Bakole vs Kabayel eliminator. Amazing, amazing matchup. Rumoured to be on the Usyk-Fury 2 card.

Meanwhile Joseph Parker still doesn't have a fight.
Inactivity really kills fighters at this stage of their career. Even if he can't get a big fight he should at least take a stay busy fight.

At this stage, I'm guessing the Zhang rematch probably happens, because who else is there for both guys?

It's just a bad fight for both guys.

First fight was tense and enjoyable in the moment but just not something that needs to be seen a second time.

Zhang should be screaming for other fights. The Bakole fight is salivating, but him vs Ruiz would also be fun.

Parker now being interim champ is in boxing limbo because he's not ranked by the other belts. So you either wait your turn patiently for a title shot (which won't come till at least halfway through next year) or you take stay busy fights.

Ok Opetaia is truly special.

Jack Massey is a huge, tough cruiserweight and that was absolutely dominant

Ignoring the sportwashing stuff,,,time wasting of the Saudis between co and main event is infuriating.
Right who the **** cares about Ciara* and Busta Rhymes?

*teenage hendrix definitely cared about Ciara...remember the video clip to Ride? Goddamn.

I asked the mrs why Saudi doesn't get any of the middle eastern stars to play e.g. Dana Salah etc.

Apparently none of them will play because they're pissed about Saudi complicity about what's going on in Palestine.

That was amazing from Bivol.

I knew he had the skills but he showed so much grit and courage in there and the way he pushed Beterbiev back multiple times and stood his ground was super gutsy.

I think he clearly won that fight.

It’s interesting how many times we see fights where one judge is an outlier

Doesn’t do the sport any good at all

I could make the case for a draw.

I think Bivol won though.

Landed the cleaner punches throughout. Was in control majority of the rounds.

Stood his ground when he needed to.

Not really that much of an outlier, when it's only 2 points away from the judge with the most dissimilar score.

Almost feels like a modern day Hagler Robinson. One of those fights where your scoring will depend massively on what you subjectively favour. Looking at the media coverage there doesn't appear to be any consensus on who deserved to win. Hopefully we get a rematch.
