T20 Blast 2024 (Started on 30th May)

So that's 3 from the Southern Group into Finals Day, although you'd think the Bears should have too much for Glos tonight.

Somewhat daft that England players (eg Curran and Archer) can't play on Finals Day.

Will Edgbaston prove home advantage (today and in the final) or will it be a repeat of last year a South monopoly?

Somerset looked good yesterday

Warwickshire are the norths last hope of getting to finals day, It's amazing if the south will have a clean sweep of QF wins for the 2nd year running

Fascinating match proving you don't need sixes being smoked everywhere. Great atmosphere too. Are Warks/Glos big rivals? sounds like a lot of banter between the two sets of fans.

Great game that. Really enjoyed it. Best game of the 4 was the lowest scoring, as often it can be.

Brilliant performance by Glos in the field, really showed bottle. Great support from the Glos fans as well, that's what following your team is about. Stick the hundred where the sun doesn't shine. Totally superfluous sterile product.

That's one thing that stood out for me was the Glos fans at the end. You will never get that in the 100 ever

" Morning will start with dry conditions and plenty of sunshine for all. Variable cloud will develop in the afternoon but it will remain dry with lengthy sunny spells."

Should be a good day ahead

Do we know if the likes of Smith, Pope and Atkinson can play for Surrey? I fancy the winner may well come from the second semi as those teams look least affected by England call ups or football related injuries.

I would be surprised if Atkinson plays, given England have rested him for the ODI matches. Don't know about the other two, though. Surely a bigger issue for Surrey is that there are several other players such as Sam Curran, Reece Topley, Will Jacks (have I forgotten anyone else?) who are playing in the Australia series.

Yeah, I'd already written that lot off, and you forgot the specialist bat Jamie Overton. Sussex without Archer, but he didn't play any of the group games anyway, so not such a loss really. The bigger loss for them is McAndrew, the problem of playing the Finals so long after the groups.

My bad, I had forgotten about him, but forgive me in that I don't actually support Surrey, I am just a lightweight Essex fan who doesn't get to Chelmsford very often due to my ailing recreational cricket career meaning one day a weekend is usually blocked off. I was always miffed about Essex no longer playing at Ilford, which is pretty close to me.

The scheduling of finals day comes across as a cluster****, but as we know influenced by the "headlining" of the Hundred.

Atkinson's T20 record isn't all that, actually. I don't know what's happened to Spencer Johnson, unless he's in the Aus squad for the current series.

You'll all be relieved to hear that Surrey do have all of their test players apart from Atkinson, but possibly disappointed to hear that Topley, SCurran, Jacks and Joverton have been retained for the final match of the England/Australia series.

Lawrence, Sibley, Evans, Pope, Smith, Burns, TCurran, Jordan, Clark, Steel and Worrall isn't the worst side imaginable.

Somerset's XI is Rew, Smeed, Kohler-Cadmore, Abell, Dickson, Gregory, Green, Coverton, Van der Merwe, Davey and Ball.
That's a strong side, even allowing for the absence of Banton.
